County 69,
Warner Robins

eventually won the game
69-66 in overtime but not
before they had battled
back and forth enough
times to confuse even the
best scorekeeper.
It started with the score
tied a three with almost
five minutes off the clock
(yes, things started out
slow). Warner Robins went
ahead 4-3. Then Houston
County went ahead 5-4.
Then the Demons went
up 6-5.
You get the picture.
By the time the first
quarter was over they
had swapped positions
six more times - only the
Bears’ Hank Harriel’s 3-
pointer broke the string
but they quickly got back
on track.
Warner Robins was up
by two 15-13 after one.
And then they were
back at it again. Ten times
during the second eight
minutes someone either
tied the game or put their
team up by one. At the
half, they were tied at 26.

PERRY - Errol Bisso,
head wrestling coach
at Riverside Military
Academy, won his 400th
match at the Wayne
Morris Ford Hornet
Invitational held Friday
and Saturday at the new
gym at Westfield.
Bisso’s Riverside team
finished 8-0 in the round
robin tournament to
increase his career coach
ing record to 402 wins.
Westfield was sixth with
a 3-5 team record, but
Carsten Franklin went 6-
1 in the 140-pound weight
class. His only loss was to
Riverside’s Christopher
Plumb.
“We had good crowd sup
port,” said Westfield head
coach Clint Humphrey.
“The wrestlers showed
good sportsmanship and
overall, we had some guys
do well.”
Nic McGehee, Austin
Madruga and Owen
Culpepper won six of eight
matches, and Jeremy
Rowland Josh Graham
were 5-3.
With the experience
came pain. Culpepper
hurt his knee while wres
tling Riverside’s Garrett
Rothman in the heavy
weight (275) division. He
finished the match but
fell short by one point.
Because of his injury,
Culpepper was forced to
forfeit to his Stratford
match, but he should be
ready for the end of the
week tournament.
Jeremy Rowland had to
forfeit his last two matches
because of a shoulder inju
ry. He too should be ready
for Westfield’s weekend
trip to Americus for the
Southland Tournament.
Also lost was Jackson
