WARNER ROBINS - The
sheriff’s choice to lead his
investigations division has
over 25 years’ experience in
the department.
Robert Clark began part
time with the Sheriffs
Department Reserves in
1977 after high school.
The Warner Robins High
School graduate said he
began full-time the follow
ing year in patrol, came to
the drug unit in the late ’Bos
and was promoted to lieu
tenant in 1993. At that time
he transferred back to
patrol for the lieutenant
position and returned to
investigations in 1994.
Clark served in investiga
tions under Capt. Harry
Enckler and has headed the
division on interim basis
since Enckler went on sick
leave in March 2004 and
retired in July.
Clark was promoted to
captain and named lead of
investigations earlier this
month.

Prickett is also a member
of Alpha Lambda Delta
of the promotion on
Tuesday (Jan. 4),” Clark
said.
He said Sheriff Cullen
Talton conducted an intra
agency search to find the
captain for the Criminal
Investigations Division.
Clark said his job won’t
change too much.
Investigations “was run
pretty well to begin with.”
As captain, he supervises
six criminal investigators,
two drug investigators, two
criminal interdiction/uni
formed officers, one crime
scene investigator and one
secretary.
Clark said he would like to
open up better lines of com
munications and streamline
the record-keeping for the
whole department with new
computer software.
“It’s some pretty expen
sive software,” he said, of
the item that didn’t make
the last budget. “It would
help all divisions not just
us.”
Clark will be married 10
years this year. He and his
wife Wanda have two chil
dren, Laurel, 5, and Amy, 18
months.
He is a member of First
Baptist Church of
Centerville and the Police
Benevolent Association. He
also works with the U.S.
Attorney’s Office on Project
Safe Neighborhoods.
