will present its monthly
Hangar Talk with the film
“Twelve O’Clock High” on at
10 a.m. in the Vistascope
Theater on the first floor of the
Eagle Building. “Twelve
O’Clock High” stars Gregory
Peck as a callous general who
assumes command of the 918th
Bomber Group based in
England. Peck must take on the
new leadership role and devel
op the respect and admiration
of group members, while flying
dangerous missions over
Germany. The World War II
drama also co-stars Dean
Jagger, as Mtg. Stovall, in his
Oscar-winning role as support
ing actor. The movie runs 132
minutes. Hangar Talks have
been restructured for 2005 to
feature monthly movies in
order to provide an entertain
ing look into aviation, military
history or technology. Each film
is selected based on these objec
tives, while encompassing the
Museum of Aviation’s monthly

SYLVIA ANN PARKER
WARNER ROBINS - Sylvia Ann Parker, 67, passed away
Monday, Jan. 24, 2005. Visitation was from 6 until 8 p.m.
Tuesday at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Services will
be held in Augusta, Kansas, on Friday, Jan. 28, 2005.
Parker was born in Neodesha, Kansas, to the late Luther
and Ada Banning. She was also preceded in death by two
sons, David and Steven Parker. Parker was a former
employee with Conoco as a cashier and clerk as well as a
devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and
sister.
Survivors include her husband, Dean A. Parker of Warner
Robins; son, Mike Parker of Snellville; daughters, Debbie
(Benny) Haralson of Bonaire, Belinda (Ronnie) Newman of
Augusta, Kansas, Terrie (Ken) Funk of Warner Robins,
Janet (Jimmy) Rogers of Warner Robins; sister, Thelma
Cabodie of Ferndale, Wash.; grandchildren, Tammy
Haralson, Tracy Haralson, Becky Newman, Nikki Newman,
Shelli Newman, Adam Parker, Kevin Parker, Jessica Parker,
Julie Parker, Christopher Campbell, Stacy Campbell,
Brandi Funk, Stephen Funk, Jeremiah Parker; great
grandchildren, Kamron Newman, Halli Knollenberg,
Brenton Funk, Benjamin Haralson and Sarah Parker.

Tag light lands alleged
meth cookers in jail

A Friday traffic stop on
U.S. 41 at Dunbar Road
landed two in jail on charges
of conspiracy to manufac
ture methamphetamine.
A deputy pulled over a
1995 Buick LeSabre after
reportedly noticing the tag
light was not working.
The driver, Christopher
Wayne Arnold, 2012 Baker
Church Road, Rentz, provid
ed license, insurance and
registration, but the deputy
noticed the names did not
match on registration. The
driver said the car belonged
to a friend of his.
The deputy noticed that
Arnold’s pupils were dilated
and asked him to step to the
rear of the vehicle and to
perform some field sobriety
tests. While talking to the
passenger, Heather Nicole
Owens, 27, 191 Simmons
Dairy Road, Cordele, the
deputies noticed a strong __
odor of burnt marijuana
coming from the vehicle.
The driver reportedly said
he didn’t know what was
going on here, “but no one
here uses drugs.”
Based on the odor of the
vehicle the deputy searched
the car. In the glove box,
deputies reportedly found a

substance on it. In a black
case in a leather jacket in
the back seat, deputies
found three syringes, and
Arnold reportedly then
remembered he was diabet
ic.
The lock on the trunk of
the car was broken and
deputies asked the driver
how to get in. Arnold report
edly said he did not know
how to get into the trunk. A
deputy used a knife to open
the trunk and found a black
bag and several more
syringes, according to
reports.
Arnold admitted the bag
was his. The deputy asked
him, “didn’t you tell me that
you didn’t know how to
open the trunk?”
Also found in the trunk
was a coffee grinder author
ities believe was used to
grind up pills for making
methamphetamine, as well
as three air tanks, a jug of
Liquid Fire and spoon with
suspected meth residue.
Both Arnold and Owens
ware arrested for conspiracy
to manufacture metham
phetamine. Arnold was also
cited for tag light require
ment. All evidence was
turned over to investigation
division.
