BERT EUGENE BOWEN
MACON - Bert E. Bowen, 58, passed away on Jan. 25,

Evergreen Baptist Church, with interment following in
Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8

Bowen was born in West Palm Beach, Fla., in 1946; he

Bert was in the National Guard and a certified fire fighter
of the Crooked Creek Fire Department of Eatonton. He had
many hobbies such as hunting, horses, guns and fishing;
somehow he always knew just how to fix everyone’s fishing
pole to be able to catch the biggest fish. Bert was always
proud to be named after his father’s pilot and co-pilot from
World War 11. He was of Baptist faith and a former member
of Second Baptist Church. His brother, Vernon C. Bowen,
preceded him in death.
Survivors include his parents, Okey and Christine Bowen
of Eatonton; sister, Wanda Purvis (Hughey) of Milledgeville;
brother, Ralph Bowen (Barbara) of Warner Robins; special
friend, Debbie Lake, Atlanta; nieces and nephews, Chris
Georgatos, Drew Purvis, John Richard Feathers, Scott
Bowen, Jackie Bowen, Sheryl Bowen, Mark (Carla) Bowen,
Chad (Jill) Bowen, Aaron Bowen and Jason (Brandi)
Bowen.
