My pictures won't print in Excel, can you help?
Dear TechnoFiles:
I do a lot of work in
Microsoft Excel, but
have come across a
strange problem. When I
go to Print Preview, the
pictures I inserted and
saved into my Excel
worksheet show up just
fine, but they don’t print
when I send the docu
ment to the printer. How
do I fix this? - Not So
Excel-lent
Dear Not So:
Working with Excel, or
any other software for that
matter, can be perplexing
and downright confusing at
times. A reasonable person
would think that if I place a
picture in my spreadsheet
and the program displays it
before printing, then it
should print, right? Well,
there may be an additional
step you need to perform to
ensure that what you are
seeing in Print Preview is
what you’ll get on your piece
of paper.
What you’ll need to do is

Issue: Divorce
Several bills have been
introduced that aim to make
divorce harder to get.
Senate Bill 25 would
extend the waiting time for
an uncontested divorce from
30 days to six months for a
couple with children. A cou
ple with no children would
have to wait four months.
House Bill 44 would pro
hibit a spouse from receiv
ing any marital property as
part of the divorce settle
ment if he or she committed
adultery.

Essay contest invites kids to be mayors
Special to the HHJ

On Nov. 30 she became

On Dec 7 I held her in my

They called her “The

Media criticism
unfair
Editor:
A recent newspaper inter
view at the Bush
Inauguration by a retired

star general unfairly criti
cized our media for being
negative about the Iraq War.
To blame our free press for
our disastrous war is noth
ing but plain and simple
scapegoating of those who
are only trying to do their
important jobs. Their role as
journalists in a democracy is
to keep us well- informed on
what our government is
doing. Anything less will not
do.
Congressman Jim
Marshall also has been
guilty of trying to blame our
media, many of whom are
risking their lives embedded
with our brave troops in
Iraq. Where were these local
VIPs when the atrocities at
Abu Ghraib and
Guantanamo were exposed?
Their voices were silent as
millions in the Arab world
were incited to hatred of
America by horrible photos
