group of black pilots who over
come racism and political oppo
sition to become an effective
and noteworthy U.S. fighter

OBITUARIES
MARGARET NEWELL ANDERSON
PERRY - Margaret Newell Anderson, 83, died Sunday,
Feb. 6, 2005, at a local nursing home. Graveside services
was 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at Haynesville First
Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m.
Tuesday at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.
Anderson, born in Bibb County, daughter of the late
Clifford E. and Ruby (Rape) Newell had resided here for
over 40 years. She was a homemaker and widow of William
Edwin Anderson.
She is preceded in death by a son and daughter, Joel and
Pauline.
Survivors include her children: William L. Anderson,
Margaret A. Johnson, Paul W. Anderson, Tommy K.
Anderson, Douglas Anderson, Cherryl Anderson and Nina
J. Arnold; 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

at noon Wednesday at Parkway Memorial Gardens. Father

WARNER ROBINS - Sammie B.
Rampy, 75, passed away on Tuesday, Feb.
8, 2005, at Peachbelt Health and
Rehabilitation Center. Services will be
held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, in
the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home
with interment following in
Andersonville National Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 until 9 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at McCullough
Funeral Home. The family suggests dona
tions be made to Hospice of Houston
County, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Rampy was born in Duck Hill, Miss. He retired from
Robins Air Force Base. He was of the Baptist faith and a
member of the VFW Corder Road Post. Sammie was an avid
outdoorsman and a huge football fan. His parents, Walter
and Eugenia Rampy, brother, Wallace Rampy, preceded him
in death.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Littlecreek of
Warner Robins; sons, Randall Rampy of Hawkinsville;
Ronald Rampy of Warner Robins; sister, Jerri R. Hawkins of
Sachse, Texas; brother, Homer Rampy of Dallas, Texas.
