WARNER ROBINS - Adelle W. Carter, 91, passed away on
Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at Victoria’s Garden Personal Care
Home. A memorial service will be held at Memory Hill
Cemetery in Dothan, Ala., at 1 p.m. CST Tuesday, March 1,
2005. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the
donor’s favorite charity.
Carter was born April 12, 1913, in Pansey, Ala., to the late
John Wesley White and Emma Lou White. She was a mem
ber of Shirley Hills Baptist Church. A resident of Warner
Robins since 1968, she retired from Civil Service at Robins
Air Force Base where she worked as a supply supervisor. In
addition to her parents, her husband, James Ernest Carter
preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert
and Ruth Ann Carter, Jacksonville, N.C.; and her grand
daughter, Sue Elizabeth Robertson, Dothan, Ala.

REV TOMMY LEE DUDLEY
MACON - Tommy Lee Dudley, 72, of
4216 Riggins Mill Road, died Saturday,
Feb. 26, 2005. Funeral services will be held
at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005
(TODAY) at Wheeler Heights Baptist
Church, with the Revs. Randy Dudley and
Franklin Etheridge officiating. Burial will
be at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery
in Soperton at 3:30 p.m. The family may be
contacted at the residence. Visitation was
from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hart’s
Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to Wheeler Heights Baptist Church, 4318
Riggins Mill Road, Macon, GA 31201.
The Rev. Dudley was a member of Wheeler Heights
Baptist Church. He pastored many churches in the Middle
Georgia area including New Salem Baptist Church in Jones
County, Faith Baptist Church in Macon and New Hope
Baptist Church in Jones County. The Rev. Dudley was a
Mason. He was a retired electronics engineer from Robins
Air Force Base after 32 years of service. Dudley also served
on the Bibb County Tax Assessors Board. He is preceded in
death by his parents, Jim D. Dudley and Ida Pearl Stewart
Dudley, and his sister, Rosa Pearl Hester.
The Rev. Dudley is survived by his wife, Simone Maxwell
Dudley of Macon; children, Thomas Joel Dudley Sr. (Greta)
of Warner Robins, the Rev. Randy L. Dudley of Macon,
Suerhonda Adkins of Macon, Gwen Brinson of Macon,
Suzanne Quinioes of Alabama and Timothy Lowrimore of
Macon; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three
brothers, Jimmy Dudley of Ivey, James Dudley of Adrian,
and Donald Dudley of Oklahoma; two sisters, Nell Daniels
of Dublin and Martha Jo Lamb of Kite, and many nieces
and nephews.
Hart’s Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
EUGENE F. HAYES
PERRY - Eugene F. Hayes died on Saturday, Feb. 26,
2005, at Serenity Gate. Funeral services was held at 2 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at the Perry Presbyterian Church,
with interment at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in Lakewood
East Memorial Gardens in Chattanooga, Tenn. Visitation
will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Hayes, born in Marion, Ind., to Leonard B. and Lillie Mae
Hayes had lived in Perry for the past seven years. Active in
many Presbyterian churches, he was an elder in the

Lookout Valley Presbyterian Church, the Brainerd Hills
Presbyterian Church in East Brainerd, Tenn., the Covenant
Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, Wee Kirk Presbyterian

Dalton. He was a member of the Perry Presbyterian Church
where he taught Sunday school. He was a retired printer
with the AMG International Company and was the printer
at the Presbyterian Evangelistic Fellowship in Decatur for
five years.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice Hayes; children, Susan
H. Curtis of Perry, Tim Hayes of Glendale, Ariz.,
Christopher B. Hayes of Chattanooga, Tenn., and SalljP
Harrell of Aberdern, Miss.; five grandchildren.

JIMMY JENKINS
BYRON - Jimmy Jenkins, 75, passed
away on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at Houston
Medical Center. Funeral services were held
at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at the Chapel of
McCullough Funeral Home, with inter
ment following in Magnolia Park
Cemetery. Visitation was 3 until 5 p.m.

Jenkins was born April 11, 1929, in Macon. He was a
member of Houston Heights Baptist Church. A master of all
trades, Jenkins was retired from the Macon Housing
Authority where he worked as a mechanic and carpenter.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Jenkins.
Survivors include daughters, Sandra Cox (Gene) of
Lizella, Annell Nelson (Don) of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Cheryl
Jones of Warner Robins, and Cindy Cunnigham (Wayne) of
Fort Valley; grandchildren, Shawn Cox, Jason Cox, Lisa
DeLoach, Melissa Jones, Heather Cunningham and Justin
Cunningham; great-grandchildren, Tucker Cox and Sydney
Cox.

GOLDEN L. PRATER
PENSACOLA, Fla. - Golden L. Prater, 84,
passed away on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005.
Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a. m.
Monday, Feb. 28, at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
Visitation was 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27,
at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family
suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society,
PO. Box 1544, Warner Robins, GA 31099-1544.
Prater was born in Logan County, W.Va., April 7, 1920, to
the late Jesse and Elizabeth Prater. A veteran of the U.S.
Army Air Corps, he proudly served during World War 11.
Prater was retired from civil service on Robins Air Force
Base where he worked as an aircraft production foreman.
He was previously a member of Second Baptist Church in
Warner Robins.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 63 years,
Gwendolyn Marshall Prater of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter
and son-in-law, Claire and Charles Page of Atlantic Beach,
N.C.; son, Michael Barry Prater of Warner Robins; brother,
Warren Prater of Canton, Ohio; sister, Alta M. Krug of
Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher Page, Marshall
Page, Jesse Prater, John Prater; and great-grandson,
Michael Prater.

MATILDA OTWELL WAY _
HAWKINSVILLE - Matilda Otwell Way, 91, of
Hawkinsville, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, in the Taylor
Regional Hospital. Graveside funeral services were held at
11 a.m. Feb. 26 in Orange Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Don
McClung officiated.
Way was a native of Crisp County and a homemaker. She
was a member of the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church and
was very active in the church until her later years. She was
preceded in death by her husband Robert Glover Way.
Survivors included two daughters, Ella Ann Way (Ed)
Beckham of Perry and Nell Way (Tom) Bradbury of Atlanta;
three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three
faithful caregivers, Mary Carter, Otha West and Constance
Robinson.
The family will receive friends at the Way residence, 113
Jackson St., Hawkinsville.
Pallbearers will be Robert Lawson, Tom Bradbury Jr., Jim
Bethea, Ramsey Way, Hatcher Way, Bob Way, John Way and
Bert Way.
Clark Funeral Home in Hawkinsville was in charge of
arrangements.

JIMMY DON WILLIAMS SR.
in Perry. Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at the
funeral home and will be again one hour prior to service on
Tuesday.
Born in Oakfield to Samuel And Lucile Williams on Oct.
16, 1936, he moved to the Atlanta area as a child and settled
in Smyrna as an adult. After retiring in 2000, he and his
wife, the former Helen Bohler of Butler, moved to Titusville,
Fla.
Don served in the Air Force before completing his electri
cal training with the International Brotherhood of
Electrical Workers (IBEW Local 613) and working with
them as a master electrician for over 40 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Bohler Williams;
sons, Jimmy Don Williams Jr. (Sandy), John Mark Williams;
daughters, Judy Ann Ayers (Robby) and Janet Audrey
Duke; grandchildren, Jimmy Don Williams 111 (Mary),
Shawn Shelton, Travis Shelton (Rebeccad), Angel
Maschioveccio (Chris), Jason Shelton, Dana Byers (Terry),
Daniel Ireland, Darean Ireland, Crystal Ayers (David), Tim
Williams, April Williams, Morgan Beriault, Austin
Abernathy; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Malcolm
Williams (Ruth); sister, Diana Davies (Gil); many nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel
arid Lucile Williams; brother, Sam Williams and sisters,
Yvonne Vollrath and Shirley Burtz.
