Logan Kemper was crowned
Miss Houston County High
School 2005 late Saturday
night. '
Kemper won both the tal
ent and evening gown por
tions, which accounted for
35 percent and 20 percent
respectively of each contes
tant s total score. The inter
view portion, held earlier in
the day, accounted for 45
percent of each contestant’s
score.
Kemper won a crown,
plaque, flowers and a SSOO
scholarship as Miss Houston
County High School. She
also received plaques for
winning the talent and
evening gown portions.
She sang “Don’t Rain on
My Parade” during the tal
ent portion and her theme
in the evening gown seg
ment was reducing violence
in our community.

the daughter of Rick and Fredia Wimsatt.

Second runner-up Kelsey Grubbs,
daughter of Glenn and Charissa
Grubbs sang “Paper Moon” and
“Orange Colored Sky” during the talent
portion.

Third runner-up - Dabe
Patterson received a plaque,
flowers and a $250 scholar
ship. Patterson also received
the MISC Award, was tied
for second for signature
pages, and tied for third in
People’s Choice voting.
Second runner-up
Kelsey Grubbs received a
plaque, flowers and a S3OO
scholarship. She also won
the interview portion and
for that, she received a
plaque and a diamond ten
nis bracelet. She was also
the ticket sales winner for
which she received a savings
bond and a plaque, and was
tied for Miss Congeniality
with Angela Sullivant for
which they each received a
plaque.
First runner-up - Amber
Wimsatt received a plaque,
flowers and a $350 scholar
ship.
The runners-up in the tal
ent awards were:
Jennifer Moulliet, who
also won the Application
Award, was fourth. She
played “Somewhere Over
the Rainbow” on the flute.
Jessica Willey and
Christine Gordon tied for
third singing “Think of Me”
and “Come Rain or Come
Shine,” respectively. Gordon
also tied for third in People’s
Choice.
Amy Zieg placed second
for clogging to “Last
Dance.”
The People’s Choice win
ners were voted on by those
in the audience for $1 a vote
with the winner taking
home cash. The winner was
Felicia Allen, with Caitlin
Mclntosh finishing second.
“As a result of this pag
eant, over $20,000 in schol
arship money will been
awarded to deserving young
women to help further their
education,” said Co-Mistress
of Ceremonies Mary Ann
Coskery. “The Houston
County High School Band
Boosters award the largest
amount of scholarship
money of the high school
pageants in Houston
County.”

Kemper. She won both the talent and evening
gown portions of the pageant en route to being
crowned.
