A community benefit
“Sweet Taste” is an annual fund raiser for the Pilot
Club of Warner Robins This international business
and professional women’s community service organi
zation has, as its primary focus, the goal of helping
those with brain-related disorders. To help meet this
goal, the Pilot Clubs of Warner Robins and Perry pur
chased the Life Saver/CareTrak Emergency Mobility
Locator System for the Houston County Sheriff’s
Department in 2001. As a result, victims of
Alzheimer’s, autism, and other forms of dementia can
now be fitted with a unique radio signal bracelet that
enables officers to locate the wearer within minutes if
he wanders from his residence. For more information
about this program, please contact Evelyn McCain at
478-922-1340. Pilots also visit local elementary
schools to present the Pilot International Brain
Minders Program, in which hand puppets and stuffed
animals are used to teach young people the impor
tance of protecting their brains from injury during play
or sports. In addition, the club conducts numerous
other projects throughout the year to benefit the citi
zens of Warner Robins.
