Young Astronauts Day from 8:30
a.m. until 3 p.m. Young
Astronauts Day is a fun-filled day
of exciting, educational work
shops for grades 3-8. Participants
attend four workshops, two of
their choice and two assigned by
the Museum’s Education

includes lunch and T-shirt. All

nied by a chaperone for the

sugar-free items. Additionally, a
silent auction of merchandise
and gift certificates will be held
and the Heart of Georgia

EVELYN N. FOX
WARNER ROBINS - Evelyn N. Fox,
80, passed away on Wednesday, March 2,
2005, at Serenity Gate. Services will be
held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2005
(TODAY), in the chapel of McCullough
Funeral Home, with interment following
in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests donations be
made to Hospice of Houston County, 103
Westridge Road, Warner Robins, GA
31088.
Fox was born in Eastman to the late Walter and Minnie
Nichols. She was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church
and worked as a switchboard operator at Houston Medical
Center. In addition to her parents, her husband, Gene Fox,
preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Wilbur Horne Jr. (Linda)
of Kathleen, Larry Horne of Florida, John Fred Home of
Warner Robins, Judy Wright (Phil) of Warner Robins, Kaye
Wilder (Jim) of Florida, Wayne Horne (Margie) of Warner
Robins; brothers, John Nichols of Alabama, Ben Nichols of
Florida; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Harvey, aka Scooby, of
Lakeshore Drive, Warner
Robins, pleaded guilty
Wednesday to one count of
trafficking in cocaine.
Harvey was sentenced by
Superior Court Judge L.A.
Buster McConnell to 25
years in prison, to serve 12.
He was indicted and charged
with the Oct. 1, 2003, sale of
two cookies of crack cocaine
to a confidential informant
for SI,BOO.
Harvey was a big-time
crack dealer in Houston
County, according to
Assistant District Attorney
George Hartwig, who prose
cuted the case.
“Every law enforcement
officer in the county was
familiar with ‘Big Scooby,’”
Hartwig said.
Hhe said the two cookies
of 77 percent pure cocaine
weighed just over 32 grams.
The amount required for
trafficking in Georgia is 28
grams or more. The manda
tory minimum sentence for
trafficking is 10 years.

including paying restitution
to the Warner Robins Police
Department for the SI,BOO
it spent buying the crack
from him.
Upon release, Harvey will
be subject to -drug testing
treatment and warrantless
searches. He was also ban
ished from Houston and
Bibb counties for the entire
25-year sentence, Hartwig
said.
“Harvey’s sentence was
significant because he was
already on probation for sev
eral drug offenses commit
ted in the late 19905,”
Hartwig said. “Charlie
Harvey just couldn’t stay
away from the easy money
to be made selling drugs. I|.
certainly isn’t easy money,
when it costs you 12 years in
prison.”

noted.
