Daniel Peake hit two home
runs and recorded six RBIs
against Mount de Sales.
His long balls were major
league blasts. One hit the
road beyond the left field
fence and the other hit the
ditch on the opposite side of
the road.
Tony Albritton pitched
four innings, allowing two
unearned runs.
“We’d played two games

credit to the players and
assistant coaches I have at
Houston County and have

runs,” said Hornets head
coach Billy Sellers. “We’re
doing everything right, but
we’re going to be short a
couple of sticks.”
Sellers said he expected
Westfield’s weaknesses to
come to the front against
FPD, and he was not sur
prised.
In their win over Mount
de Sales, they managed only
six hits. What made them
successful were stolen bases.
Westfield was 12-for-12 in
that department against
John Hancock and MDS.
Against FPD, Westfield
didn’t get a stolen base and

First Presbyterian, like
Westfield, entered the
game 2-0 after knocking off

game.
The Vikings scored three
runs in the first on three hits
and one error. They added a

courtesy of two base hits and
an error, and tallied another
in the fifth from a walk,
single and error.
Meanwhile, Westfield
eked out only two hits in the

Tony Albritton opened the
second with a double and

as Daniel Stokes struck out

Thursday marked
an important day
for people who
watch sports on TV on
a regular basis. It was
the day ESPN debuted its
new channel, ESPN U.
This new channel,
which will be dedicated to
college athletics, is being
launched at exactly the
right time, in my opin

It’s going to come
out at a time when the
demand to watch college

is “Championship week”
