Traffic Systems on a system

would place video cameras
on selected intersections in
the city to film vehicles that

Daniel Foglton, vice-presi

presentation to council

Police Department.
Foglton told the council
that their system took
videos of offending vehicles
instead of still photos. He
said the system - which
would have four separate
video cameras covering each
intersection - could sense
when an approaching vehi
cle would run a red light and
then turn on the camera
and record the vehicle’s
license plate.
The company would
install the system free of
charge, view the videotapes,
and mail citations to offend
ers. The fine for running a
red light would be $75. The
cost to Warner Robins
would be a $4,500-$6,000
monthly charge for each
interchange covered by the
system.
Foglton said that the sys
tem has been shown to
decrease accidents at cov
ered' intersections by 42 per
cent and fatal accidents by
80 percent.
