HARRIETT M. GRANTHAM
ATLANTA - Harriett M. Grantham, 67 of Atlanta, passed
away on Monday, March 7, 2005. She is a member of Second
Ponce de Leon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death
by her husband, John R. Grantham.
Grantham is survived by one son, John Kimmrick
Grantham; two daughters, Ivy G. Anderson and Susan G.
Hatcher; two brothers, Julian Gaultney and Bobby
Gaultney; one sister, Evelyn Marshall; and six grandchil
dren, Christa L. Boutwell, Whitney M. Anderson, David C.
Anderson, Charlie Grantham, Emil Grantham and
Kathleen Grantham.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9,
2005 in the sanctuary of Second Ponce de Leon Baptist
Church, 2715 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30305.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at
the church. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Magnolia
Park Cemetery in Warner Robins.

WALTER VADEN MARCUS
PERRY - Walter Vaden Marcus, 79, died Sunday, March 6,
2005, in a Hawkinsville hospital. Funeral services will be 2
p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005 (TODAY) at the Christ’s
Sanctified Holy Church on the campground, with interment
following in the church cemetery. Visitation was at 7 p.m.
Tuesday also on the campground.
Marcus, born in Chattanooga, Tenn., and a former resi
dent of Albany, was a retired carpenter who specialized in
hardwood flooring. He was a member of the Christ’s
Sanctified Holy Church.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Copeland Marcus;
daughter, Katherine Marcus Musgrove of Cochran; sisters,
June Westmoreland Chism of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and
Frances Turley of Chattanooga, Tenn. He was preceded in
death by daughters, Mary Elizabeth Marcus and Marie Inez
Marcus.

STEVEN WAYNE SHELL
WARNER ROBINS - Steven Wayne Shell,
46, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2005.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
Thursday, March 10, at the Chapel of
McCullough Funeral Home, with interment
following in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery,
Milledgeville. Visitation will be 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday,
March 9 (TODAY), at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of
flowers donations may be made to Joy in the Journey, c/o
Central Baptist Church, 320 Hatcher Road, Warner Robins,
GA 31088.
Shell was born April 17, 1958 in Stuttgart, Germany. He
was a member of Unity Baptist Church and previously
served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include, mother, Rosemary Thompson and her
husband, O.W. Thompson of Cobb; father, Raleigh “Ray”
Shell of Warner Robins; brother, Thomas Shell of
Douglasville; sister, Beth Shell of Montezuma; Regina
Smith of Oglethorpe; Debra Robinson of Perry; nieces and
nephews, Heather, Justin and Cher Shell; Tonia Street;
Scott Smith; Mark and Curt Fowler.

PERRY - Horace Williams (Spod) died Sunday, March 6,
2005. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10,
2005, at Richardson Funeral Home, with burial in the
Tharpe Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Williams; children,
Sarah Cainion, Victoria Simon, Mike, JoAnnie, and Horace
Williams; and a devoted granddaughter, Shwonder Scott.
