and the Museum of Aviation
Foundation will host the
Southern Wings Art Show. The
show will feature the talents of
aviation artists Jim Balletto,
Wade Meyers, Marc Stewart
and Russell Smith. The art
work will remain on display in

Gallery until May 10. The Art
Gallery is located on the second
floor of the Eagle Building. The

OBITUARY
JAMES Q. “SANDY” SANDERS
WARNER ROBINS - James Q. “Sandy” Sanders, 77,
passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at Phoebe Putney
Memorial Hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,
March 11, 2005, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral
Home. Interment will be held 3 p.m. at Colbert City
Cemetery in Colbert. Visitation will be from 7:30 until 9
p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005 (TODAY), at McCullough
Funeral Home.
Sanders was born in Hull. He retired from Robins Air
Force Base as an electronic mechanic. Sandy was also
inducted to the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame in
2000. His parents, Robert and Ora Sanders; brother, Gilbert
Sanders; sister, Cleo Sanders preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Sanders of
Macon; sons, James Sanders of New Orleans, La., Spencer
Sanders of Macon, Allen Sanders of Houston, Texas; daugh
ters, Shelia Owens of Winterville; Sandra Elizabeth Paulk
of Ellaville; Lee Mcßryde of Lizella; brothers, Robert
Sanders of Winterville, Thomas Sanders of Brunswick, Neil
Sanders of Winterville; sisters, Hoil Christain of Athens,
Bonnie Huggins of Atlanta; 18 grandchildren and nine
great- grandchildren.

K.C.E. Structural
Engineering Firm, IMER,
Allyn Kilsheimer presided
over all aspects of the recon
struction phase of the
Pentagon after it was struck
by terrorists on Sept. 11,
2001.
At 1 p.m. Monday, March
21, in the Macon State
College Theater, Kilsheimer
will discuss the initiatives
taken during the recon
struction process and the
impact it had on the families
of the victims and the
American society at large.
This event is free and open
to the public.
The presentation is titled,
“The Phoenix Project:
Rebuilding the Pentagon
Post 9/11 - Challenges and
Tribulations.”
The Macon State College
Theater is located in the
Arts Complex on the Macon
campus, which is off
Eisenhower Parkway two
miles west of Macon Mall.
Kilsheimer considers his
work on The Phoenix
Project his most important
opportunity for service to
his community, nation and
the military. On Sept. 11,
2001, within minutes of the
terrorist attacks, Kilsheimer
responded to a call for help
