Traffic stops lead to several

Driving at night without
headlights or working tag
lights attracts the attention
of law enforcement officers.
Three men face charges
because their lights were
out - and drugs were report
edly found in their vehicles
or on their persons last
week.
Charles Eddie Wiggins,
40, 1716 Hendricks Road,
Fort Valley, was arrested
Thursday for weaving in the
road with no tag light - and
having a large bulge in his
pocket.
A Houston County
Sheriff’s deputy reportedly
observed Wiggins’ vehicle on
Ga. 96 at Lake Joy Road
with a malfunctioning tag
A DUI is a DUI in either county

Joey Allen Tingle, 24, of
Lizella, reportedly blew
0.209 on the Intox 5000
Friday at the Houston
County Jail. Deputies
responded to a Houston
Road location to find a car in
the ditch. A Peach County
deputy was also on scene
and had begun working the
scene. He reportedly
observed both occupants
were intoxicated and had
Tingle in custody for DUI. A
woman on the scene told
authorities she drove up to
the location and got out of
the car because the two
were arguing. Tingle report
edly tried to back the car out
of a driveway and got stuck
in a ditch. He told authori
ties his cousin was driving
and drove it into the ditch.
After it was determined that
the incident took place in
Houston County, Tingle was
transported to a Houston
County patrol unit and
taken to jail. There he
reportedly agreed to a
breath test and blew 0.209
on the Intox 5000 and was
charged with DUI.

mit a theft, to commit a
crime with a dangerous
weapon, to possess Xanax
with intent to distribute and
failing to keep drugs in their

that out after being stopped
by Perry Police at 10:32 p.m.
Wednesday.
It’s also a violation of pro
bation for theft of services to
possess marijuana-less than
one ounce. John David
Selby, 23, 202 Ridgewood
Drive, Centerville, found
that out at 2:15 a.m.
Thursday after he was
reportedly observed leaving

light, and initiated a traffic
stop after observing the car
drift into the center turn
lane near Huston County
High School.
The driver reportedly said
he was trying to call his wife
on the cell phone and that
was the reason for his fail
ure to maintain his lane of
travel. The deputy detected
a chemical odor coming
inside the vehicle and and
when talking with the driver
outside the car, he could
smell the odor of a chemical
on his person. The deputy
said he observed the driver
grinding his teeth, acting
very nervous and shaking.
Wiggins also reportedly
kept putting his hands in his
pockets. Suspect agreed to a

it on the counter. An anony
mous tipster reportedly saw
Selby in Crimestoppers and
said he might be at the resi
dence. Deputies and police
arrived, and Selby was
found inside and asked if he
could put clothes on.
Deputies observed a bag of
marijuana on the counter
and Selby reportedly said it
belonged to him.
Road closed, bottle open
The new part of Houston
Lake Road at Tucker Place
is not open yet. Kevin
Charles Brown, 33, 16 Bass
Road, Macon, was reported
ly arrested Thursday for
driving on it, while drunk,
with an open container of
alcohol and driving with a
suspended or revoked
license (third offense). A
deputy reportedly observed
Brown driving a blue mini
van on the closed portion of
the road. The deputy initiat
ed a traffic stop and Brown
admitted his license was
suspended when asked for
license and proof of insur
ance by deputy, according to
a report. The deputy detect
ed a strong odor of alcoholic
beverage coming from the
vehicle and Brown reported
ly admitted to drinking
when asked. He was placed
in a patrol unit and a search
of the minivan found an
open and nearly empty bot
tle of Kentucky Gold liquor.
Person(s) known
A Webb Street resident
reported someone stole
items from her residence on
Thursday, including two
paintball guns, two polo
shirts and a pair of Polo
jeans. The complainant said
her sister uses methamphet
amine and used to live
there. The sister was called

After field sobriety tests,
the driver was handcuffed
and placed into custody. He
reportedly said, “you got
me” as he was being hand
cuffed and admitted he had
marijuana in his pocket. As
deputy placed his hand in
Wiggins’ pocket, the driver
reportedly said “bingo.”
The deputy found clear
plastic bag containing a
green, leafy substance, a
pack of J&B rolling papers
and a silver pipe. Also found
was U.S. currency totaling
$770. Wiggins was trans
ported to the sheriffs office
by the complainant prior to
deputy’s arrival, and said
she went in to get her stuff"
along with five others. Sister
reportedly told complainant
to tell deputy to leave and
she’d bring them S6OO.
A former Perry Police offi
cer came by a current offi
cer’s home to talk, and the
conversation led to the
department and why he was
terminated, according to
reports. After visiting the
bathroom and having a
drink of water, the former
officer was observed stand
ing at the door ready to
leave and the two said good
bye. When the current offi
cer’s wife came home with a
new puppy, the animal was
observed picking something
up near the door and
dropped when advised to do
so. It was an orange pill,
which the officer took to a
pharmacy, where it was
identified as Xanax. The
officer filed a report on the
incident, saying the pre
scription drug is not used in
his home. He and his wife
offered to take drug tests,
and said in a statement to
the Houston County
Sheriffs Office that he was
concerned about the former
officer and also angered
because this conduct could
have endangered not only
their dog but also the cou
ple’s child.

On Thursday, person(s)
unknown reportedly stole
the victim’s wallet from the
center console of his
unlocked truck. The victim
said he heard his dog bark
ing around midnight and
noticed the wallet was gone
at 8 a.m. The victim also
filed a report with the
Warner Robins Police
Department as his credit
card had been used at the
Wal-Mart there.

search of the patrol car
found a blue clear plastic
bag where the offender was
sitting containing a white
substance - suspected
methamphetamine.
“You did not see me put
the bag under your seat so
it’s my word against yours,
right?” Wiggins reportedly
said. He then allegedly said
he’d “screwed up.”
Wiggins was charged with
possession of schedule I or II
(methamphetamine), pos
session of marijuana-less
than one once, DUI drugs
less safe (pending lab
results), failure to maintain
lane and tag light required.

by 12 businesses, claiming
they purchased several $5-a
plate barbecue tickets with
the food to be delivered at a

drug arrests
In an unrelated incident,
Keil Omar Davis, 23, 221
Hatcher Road, Warner
Robins, and his passenger
Ramone Dwight, 30, were
arrested and charged with
possession of marijuana
with intent to distribute on
Friday after a deputy report
edly observed Davis driving
his car with only parking
lights on.
Both men were observed
walking from the vehicle
towards a Pheasant Ridge
Drive house, after it pulled
into a driveway. The deputy
reportedly observed a strong
odor of marijuana and alco
hol coming from both, and
Davis allegedly had trouble
standing. Davis, the driver,
admitted to smoking pot at a
reported the woman told them
it was a fund-raiser to benefit
foster children.
The businesses were asked
to make checks out to Thomas
McCleese Jr., 39, 208
Kimberly Road, who Powers
said was handling the fund
raiser. He was arrested March
9 on 12 counts of party to
theft by deception for his
alleged role in the fictitious
fund-raiser.

After a field sobriety test,
the driver was taken into
custody for DUI-alcohol and
drugs.
A search of the vehicle
found a Flash Foods bag
containing five clear plastic
bags of a large amount of a
green, leafy substance
believed to be marijuana.
The passenger, Dwight, was
then placed into custody for
possession of marijuana
with intent. Both Davis and
Dwight were charged with
possession of marijuana
with intent to distribute.
The driver was also charged
with DUI, and the headlight
requirements.
