Instead, the Lady Hawks
showed up 20 minutes late

40 counting warm-ups. It
must have been a “fashion

part of their gameplan, as
they were also late back
during basketball season
against Warner Robins.
That time did them little
good as they still lost.
This time? Well, they

the Demonettes 2-0 Friday
at Tanner Field.
The difference on the
scoreboard turned out to
be a shot lobbed over the
head of Warner Robins
goalkeeper Jenny Drain by
Hardaway’s Tiffany Julien,
the latter of which had
momentarily slipped out of
a crowded front for a one
on-one from about 10-feet

inside a minute.
That accounted for the
score but not the real dif

the playing surface, accord

That went to their goal

I’ve been thinking
that the reason
professional sports
don’t fare well in Macon
is because the people who
would support them don’t
live in Macon.
On the rare occasions
I covered a Macon Trax
hockey game at my prior
position, most of the peo
ple I talked to were from
Houston County.
The same was true
when the Macon Braves
graced Luther Williams
Stadium. The fans simply
weren’t from Macon.
My survey wasn’t offi

around at everything
folks in Warner Robins
and Perry are doing, I
think that I’m onto some
thing.
Let’s do a show! No,
that was Andy Hardy.
