Saturday, April 30
• Boy Scout Troop 96 will hold
a yard sale this from 8 a.m. until
4 p.m. at Crossroads United
Methodist Church, 1600 Main
St., Perry.
• Trinity United Methodist
Church in Warner Robins will
hold a “Spring Fling” fund-raiser
for missions. From 8:30 a.m. to 2
p.m., shoppers can find flea
market bargains, including chil
dren’s toys, clothing for all ages,
gardening tools, sporting goods,
used books, toys, Thomas
Kincaid collectibles, household
accessories and more. Food on
sale will include barbecue and
baked goods.
• A “Gls on Wheels” Restored
Military Vehicle Show will be
held at the Museum of Aviation
from 9 a,m. until 5 p.m. The
show, organized by the Georgia
Military Vehicle Preservation
Association will include jeeps,
trucks, armored vehicles, motor
cycles, trailers and “HumVees”
from all over the state. Display
competition vehicles will pay $lO
but spectators will be admitted
free. Awards will be given for a
dozen different categories of mil

• The Georgia State Patrol
Post in Perry will host a barbe
cue and family day called
Troopers For A Cure from 11
a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds for the
$5-a-plate fund-raiser will bene
fit the American Cancer Society.
Meals will include grilled chicken
with Trooper Slappey’s secret
seasoning. All proceeds of the
event benefit the American
Cancer Society. Equipment on
display will include the large
mobile command vehicle from
Atlanta, an original 1937 patrol
car, and a patrol car from 1967.
Also, members of the accident
reconstruction unit will be on
hand with their truck. There will
be special activities for children,
and a bake sale. Trooper Brian

• The Warner Robins Little
Theatre will present “Taking
Leave,” a dramatic comedy by

government surplus auction

NOTICE OF 2005-2006 BUDGET HEARING
The City of Warner Robins will make available for Public inspection a copy of the 2005-
2006 Proposed General Fund Budget at the City Clerk's Office, City Hall, during regular
hours 8:OOam - s:oopm, Monday-Friday. This Budget is an estimate of the financial require
ments of each city department for fiscal year 2005-2006.
Notice is also given that a Public Hearing will be held on the 2005-2006 General Fund Budget
on June 6, 2005 in Council Chambers, City Hall at 6:3opm, at which time any person wishing

Navy Seaman Recruit
Jonathan K. Edney, son of
Glynda A. Moate of Macon,
and Kenneth E. Edney of
Byron, recently completed
U.S. Navy basic training at
Recruit Training Command,
Great Lakes, 111.
During the eight-week
program, Edney completed a
variety of training which
included classroom study
and practical instruction on
naval customs, first aid, fire
fighting, water safety and
survival, and shipboard and
aircraft safety. An emphasis
was also placed on physical
fitness.
The capstone event of
boot camp is “Battle
Stations.” This exercise
gives recruits the skills and
confidence they need to suc
ceed in the fleet. “Battle
Stations” is designed to gal
vanize the basic warrior
attributes of sacrifice, dedi
cation, teamwork and
endurance in each recruit
through the practical appli
cation of basic Navy skills

WARNER ROBINS - Sara Taylor Self, 87, passed away on
Wednesday, April 27, 2005. Graveside services were held at
4 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2005, at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
She is survived by her three sons, David Self, Jimmy Self
and Melvin Self.

has graduated from basic
military training at
Lackland Air Force Base,
San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of
training, the airman studied
the Air Force mission,
organization, and military
customs and courtesies; per
formed drill and ceremony
marches, and received phys
ical training, rifle marks
manship, field training exer
cises, and special training in
human relations.
In addition, airmen who
complete basic training earn
credits toward an associate
degree through the
Community College of the
Air Force.
He is the son of Julie
Mathis of Bonaire.
Ferrell is a 1999 graduate
of Houston County High
