Sherrill Stafford Scholarship
Fund Golf Tournament at the
Robins Air Force Base Pine
Oaks Golf Course. The four-per
son scramble shotgun begins at
8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Lunch will be
held at 11 a.m. The event pro
ceeds will benefit scholarship
recipients of the AFA chapter.

1979, is making a return this

trip through time, with Frank
Sinatra and Elvis Presley songs
as well as numbers from ‘The
Phantom of the Opera,”
“Grease,” “Mamma Mia,” The
Wiz” and more. Tickets are $8
for adults, $5 for students, if pur
chased in advance. Adult tickets
are $lO at the door.

ROSE A. STAYMATE
WARNER ROBINS - Rose A. Staymate, 79, passed away
on Monday, May 2, 2005, at home. Services will be held at 3
p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005, in the chapel of McCullough
Funeral Home, with interment following in Magnolia Park
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday,
May 7, 2005, at McCullough Funeral Home. The family sug
gests donations be made to American Cancer Society, EO.

Staymate was bom in Smoky Lake, Alberta, Canada. She
was a Greek Orthodox. She retired from NAF at Robins Air
Force Base. Her parents, Waysl Staymate and Angelina
(Forst), preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth W. Staymate and wife
(Linda) of Warner Robins; daughter, Patricia A. Angell and
husband (Steve) of Maryland; sister, Kay Serediak (age 90),
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; grandchildren, Barbara N.
Staymate, Wayne E. “Wes” Staymate, Michelle Angell,
Terry J. Angell, Patrick S. Angell, Paul W. Angell, Sara A.
Angell, Elizabeth M. Angell, Stephanie F. Angell; and three
great-grandchildren, Jermiah Metzger, Joshua Metzger and
Abigail Angell.

IRENE JONES THOMASON
WARNER ROBINS - Irene Jones
Thomason, 94, of Warner Robins died May
4. She was predeceased by husbands
Clarence Thompson of Eatonton and Joe D.
Thomason of Warner Robins, and grand
sons Randy Tillery of Atlanta, and Neal
Thompson of Warner Robins. She is sur
vived by a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin
and Nadine Thompson of Warner Robins;
daughter Evelyn Tillery of Aragon, and
daughter and son-in-law Audrey and Jerry
Griffies of Marietta.
She is also survived by eight grandchil
dren, 10 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchil
dren, and two sisters - Oease Williams and Marie Williams,
both of Warner Robins and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thomason was a native of Eatonton and the daughter of
the late Edgar H. and Eugenia Wagner Jones. She was a
1927 graduate of Eatonton High School.
Except for four years in Marietta during the 19905,
Thomason had lived in Warner Robins since 1953. She was
an active member of the Warner Robins First United
Methodist Church where she was a member of UMW and
the Friendship Sunday School Class. She served in numer
ous capacities through the years and touched many lives.
She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and
grandmother, cherished sister and faithful friend.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6
(TODAY), at the First United Methodist Church of Warner
Robins. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at the Philadelphia
United Methodist Church in Eatonton. The family received
family and friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at
Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Warner Robins.

Dick, a six-year veteran of
the 150-person unit and the

efforts at reorganizing the
unit’s personnel training
program which enhanced
the efficiency of the 202nd’s
overall training program.

the honor to Dick at recent
military ceremonies.
