THURSDAY May 12, 2005 Volume 135, Number 349 Award-Winning Newspaper 2004 Better Newspaper Contest In BRIEF Aircraft to block 247 traffic today WARNER ROBINS - The Museum of Aviation will welcome home one of its fighter jets, the Convair F-106A, after a 10-month restoration period at Robins Air Force Base, this morning. The all-weather inter ceptor aircraft will travel from the Arrow Club located at the intersection of Green Street and Ga. 247 at 9:30 a.m. The air craft will head south on Ga. 247 and travel up the on-ramp toward Robins Air Force Base Gate 14 and enter the side gate of the museum. The aircraft is expected to arrive at the Museum’s west gate at approximately 10 a.m. People who ordinarily travel along Ga. 247 at that time should avoid the road due to the trans portation of the aircraft. SOUTHERN HHJ Staff Writer WARNER ROBINS - Groups raising funds to build a POW/MIA memori al at the Museum of Aviation are planning two events they hope will help reach their goal. Members of the POW/MIA Memorial Organization and the 1033 Foundation announced a few weeks ago that they are in the beginning process of raising funds to build the monument.
