OBITUARIES
GONZALO “BUTCH” GARCIA JR.
WARNER ROBINS - Gonzalo “Butch” Garcia, Jr., 67,
passed away on Monday, May 23, 2005, in his home.
Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2005, at
Christ United Methodist Church. Burial will be private.
The family suggests donations be made to Hospice of
Houston County, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA
31088.
Garcia was bom in Tampa, Fla. He was a member of
Christ United Methodist Church and the Issues and
Answers Sunday School Class and the men’s club. He was a
member of Jaycee Senate #8522 in Florida. Garcia was a
former employee of Henderson Janitorial Service and a for
mer Red Tie volunteer at Houston Medical Center. His
mother, Clara Garcia, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Garcia, Warner Robins;
father, Gonzalo Garcia Sr., Atlanta; sons, David Larson of
Florida, Martin Larson of Dade City, Fla.; daughters, Toni
Combs of Riverview, Fla., Valerie Johnson of Perry; brother,
Jimmy Garcia of Atlanta; 14 grandchildren and one great
grandchild.

will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Perry Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by grand
parents; James Lewis, Red and Betty Adams, all of Perry;
and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in
death by grandparents; Colleen Lewis and Bobby Howard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to either
Lake Joy Elementary School Library Fund, 995 Lake Joy
Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088; or Perry Presbyterian
Church, 111 Second St., Perry, GA 31069.

Warner Robins, surrounded by his wife I j|§
and children. Services will be held at 11 09
a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005 (TODAY), at
River of Light Church of God, with inter
ment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family sug
gests donations be made to Portsbridge Hospice
Foundation, 115 Arkwright Landing Macon, GA 31210.
Wright, 82, was born in Wilcox County, one of 11 children
of the late Willis and Jane Hardy Wright. He retired as
manager of the door shop at Warner Robins Supply
Company in 1987, after 31 years with the local company. He
attended Pitts School and entered the U.S. Army in 1942
and served in the South Pacific for the duration of the war.
He participated in the liberation of the Philippines and was
awarded the Philippines Liberation Ribbon and the Asiatic
Pacific Service Medal with a Bronze star.
Wright returned to Wilcox County to his bride, Oped
Brantley Wright, whom he had married just six months
before going off to war. The family moved to Houston
County in 1956, where they raised six children at their
home on Russell Parkway in Warner Robins. His son-in-law,
Herman Wills, and grandson, Randy Wright, preceded him
in death.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Brantley Wright; three
sons, Randall Wright (Cheryl) of Centerville; Bobby Wright
(Evelyn) of Warner Robins, Barry Wright of Montgomery,
Ala.; three daughters, Linda Wills of Warner Robins, Bonnie
Cantrell (David) of Griffin, Vickie Murray (Randolph) of
Alpharetta; one brother, Willis Wright of Centerville; one
sister, Mamie Johnson of Columbus; 13 grandchildren and
11 great-grandchildren.
