LINDA L. BLACHLY
WARNER ROBINS - Linda L. Blachly, 44, passed away on
Friday, May 27, 2005, at her residence. Services will be pri
vate. Donations may be made to Coliseum Cancer Center,
350 Hospital Drive, Macon, GA 31217; or Portsbridge
Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon, GA 31210.
Blachly was bom July 9, 1960, in Muskegon, Mich. She
worked as a registered nurse for 23 years and was the
owner/operator of Heart of Georgia Medical Billing Inc. for
the past ten years. She was a member of Three Oaks United
Methodist Church in Three Oaks, Mich.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis Blachly of Warner
Robins; parents, Larry and Sherrill Irvine of Rives
Junction, Mich.; brother, David Irvine of Oakland, Calif.;
sister, Mary Talucci of Ferndale, Mich.; aunt and uncle,
Mollie and Frank Carnes of Jenison, Mich.; and grandpar
ents, Willard and Enid Willson of Grandville, Mich.

CAPT. RICHARD B. FUCHS, USAF (RET.)
WARNER ROBINS - Richard B. Fuchs, 57,
passed away on Friday, May 27, 2005, at
Houston Medical Center. Services will be pri
vate. Donations may be made to the
Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 North
Halsted St. Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60622.
Fuchs proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, and was of the
Catholic faith.
He was employed as a Logistician at Northrop Grumman.
Preceding him in death were parents, Richard W. and Nellie
Mae Fuchs.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Fuchs; children, Richard
Bristow (Fuchs) Lanier II of Warner Robins, and Cecilia
Klause and son-in-law Major William Klause of Texas; and
Morris will CATch up with him later. He will be sorely
missed by all who loved him.

WARNER ROBINS - Vallie Mae Heard, 76, passed away
Thursday, May 26, 2005. Services were at 11 a.m. Monday,
May 30, 2005 in the Piney Grove Missionary Baptist
Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation
was from 7 until 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The
Rev. James O. Miller officiated.
Heard was born in Peach County, to the late Eugene and

Over 1,400 graduate from Houston schools

PERRY - “Pomp and
Circumstance,” times five
was heard at the Georgia
National Fairgrounds this
weekend as graduation cere
monies were held for Perry
High School, Houston
County Career and
Technology Center,
Northside High School,
Warner Robins High School
and Houston County High
School.
Students shouted, parents
cried, pictures were made
and hugs were given as
Superintendent Danny
Carpenter conferred over
1,400 diplomas.
Parchment was placed in
the hands of the class of
2005, and they couldn’t have
been more obliged to receive
them as some danced across
the stage.
Others smiled and shook
the hands of Houston
County Board of Education
members, and received well
wishes.
Some teachers held back
tears as they hugged their
students after they walked
across the stage.
“None of us know what
the future holds,” Carpenter
told students. “Dream,
imagine and hope.”
He also encouraged stu
dents to give back to the
community, vote and be
involved.
Alma maters were sung
and tassels turned as the
Class of 2005 took their first
step into adulthood.

Irene Tyler Glover. She was a member of the Piney Grove
Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the church
choir. She was lifetime member of the Eastern Star and a
member of the Warner Robins Kiwanis Club. Heard was a
self-employed seamstress and a former seamstress for
Evelyn’s Ladies Wear.
Survivors include her sisters, Daisy Davis of Warner
Robins, Juanita (Soloman) Heath of Warner Robins, Doris
(William) Abercrobie of Cleveland, Ohio, Josephine Rouse of
Chicago, 111.; and a brdther, Jesse Glover of Cleveland, Ohio;
several nieces and nephews.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer
Society at PO. Box 4406, Macon, GA 31208 in memory of
Mrs. Heard.

ROBERT “BOB” KELLEY
WARNER ROBINS - Robert “Bob” Kelley, 80, passed
away on Friday, May 27, 2005. Services was held at 2 p.m.
Sunday, May 29, at the chapel of McCullough Funeral
Home, with interment following in Magnolia Park
Cemetery. Visitation was from 7 until 9 p.m. on Saturday,
May 28, at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the
family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Houston
County, 103 Westridge Ave., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Kelley was born Oct. 12, 1924, to the late Charles and Ella
Kelley of Evarts, Ky. A resident of Warner Robins since
1942, Kelley began his career in the early ’4os as an equip
ment engineer at radio station WMAZ. In the mid ’4os, he
took a job as a radar repair specialist at Robins Air Force
Base. In the early ’sos he was selected to head up the devel
opment of a repair capability for a bomb navigation system
installed on B-47 bombers. It was the most sophisticated
and complex electronic equipment in use by the Air Force at
that time. The system was known as the K-System, and
Kelley’s long and successful association with it earned him
the nickname “Mr. K-System” at Robins.
In the early ’6os, Kelley took a position as a logistics man
agement officer where he served as program manager for a
variety of airborne equipment. In this position he traveled
extensively throughout the United States. Kelley retired
from Robins Air Force Base in November 1975.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 59 years,
Eileen Glidewell Kelley of Warner Robins; four children,
Brenda Kelley Bowen (John) of Birmingham, Ala., Robert
Michael Kelley (Paula) of Chatsworth, Charles Richard
“Rick” Kelley (Wanda) of Warner Robins, and Bonnie Kelley
Morris (Richard) of Houston, Texas; sister, Peggy Kelley
Jones of Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and four great-

DAISY MARIE STEED
WARNER ROBINS - Daisy Marie Steed, 96, passed away
Friday, May 27, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday
(TODAY) in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral
Home, with entombment in the Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
Visitation was from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral
home.
Steed was bom in Jones, Miss., to the late Harry Lee
“Tony” and Lillie Mae Morgan Ober. She was a member of
the Shirley Hills Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughters, Jeanette Davis of
Louisville, Thelma Pepper of Bassier, La., Verna Kennedy of
Greenwood, S.C., Billie Marie Harrison of Tampa, Fla.,
Edith Austin of Panama City, Fla., Marge Fredrickson of
Victoria, 111., and Janis Long of Warner Robins; 33 grand
children, 41 great-grandchildren and two great-great
grandchildren.

CAROL B. WHITEHEAD
WARNER ROBINS - Carol B. Whitehead, 61, passed
away Friday, May 27, 2005, in a local hospital. A memorial
service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Second Baptist
Church. Burial will be private. Visitation was from 2 p.m.
until service time at 3 p.m.
Whitehead was born in Laurens County to the late
Prentice Bracewell. She was a member at Second Baptist
Church, a member of the XYZ senior group and a member
of the Joy Jubilee Sunday School Class. Whitehead was a
homemaker, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Bert Whitehead of
Warner Robins; daughters, Renee Edgeworth of Warner
Robins and Lawanna Prescott of Milledgeville; mother, Avis
McClendon Bracewell of Billings, Mont.; sister, Shirley
Tackas of Roundup, Mont.; grandchildren, Erica
Edgeworth, Ashley Edgeworth and Chelcey Edgeworth.
