'Thousand-yard stare' at the Moose Lodge
By RAY UGHTNER
HHJ Staff Writer
Christopher Wright, 33, 402
Oakview Square, Warner
Robins, was arrested for DUl
drugs following a traffic stop
Saturday. Deputies responding
to an alarm at the Moose Lodge
on Nelson Drive reportedly
observed Wright leaving the
driveway of the lodge. A deputy
noticed Wright reportedly
seemed as though he could not
decide whether to get out or stay
in the vehicle. The deputy asked
him to exit the vehicle.
Wright reportedly looked as if
he were staring off into space,
“or as we in law enforcement call
it, the thousand-yard stare,’
which always heightens our
awareness.”
When asked why he was
there, Wright reportedly claimed
to be the lawn person, and
allegedly admitted to have taken
ephedrine when asked if he was
under the influence of anything.
The deputy “had an inclination
that he was not being truthful,
because he could not even say
the word right or pronounce it
correctly.” Wright reportedly later
admitted to smoking metham
phetamine and throwing the foil
out as he was leaving the Moose
Lodge. When asked again why
he v/as there, Wright reportedly
said he was looking through he
trash and checking out the pond.
A search of his person found
nothing. He also consented to a
search of his vehicle, which
turned up a crow bar under the
seat, and a pinched-off corner of
a baggie that appeared to have
a very small amount of metham
phetamine still in it. It was report
edly on the seat in plain view
and appeared to have been
thrown there as some residue
was on the seat as well. The
suspected meth tested positive.

Mclntosh said people in the

studies and permits.
It would cost $2.6 million
to provide water to about
100 customers on Grovania

Public Works Director
Tommy Stalnaker said,
“that’s not an economically
feasible investment. We
would not see a return for
years down the road.”
“If someone elects to live

county is not obligated to

her if she did.
When advised he was under
arrest, Wright reportedly said
“no," refusing to put his hands
behind his back. He then tried to
snatch away when deputies

said he was not going to jail,
according to a report.
Deputies reportedly grabbed
him, put him on the ground
