Hale, 84, passed away on ■ls
Friday, June 10, 2005, at
Portsbridge Hospice.
Services will be held at 10
a.m. Tuesday, June 14 (TODAY), at the
chapel of McCullough Funeral Home,
with interment following at 2 p.m. in
Marietta National Cemetery. Visitation
was from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday, June 13,
at McCullough Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Portsbridge
Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon, GA 31210.
Hale was born June 10, 1921, in Bishopville, S.C., to the
late Henry and Nicie Stokes. She was a first lieutenant in
the U.S. Army where she served as a registered nurse.
Hale was a member of First United Methodist Church,
Warner Robins. In addition to her parents, her son, Allie
Dave Hale, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Lt. Col. Drew Pratt Hale
(Ret.) of Bonaire; children, Drew B. Hale of Bonaire,
Walter Douglas Hale (D’Arcy) of McDonough, Pratt Hale
(Jeannie) of Warner Robins, and Cappy Moor (Gary) of
Macon; siblings, Stanley Stokes, Geraldine Arrants,
Barbara Capell, all of South Carolina; and Shelby Haines of
Arizona; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchil
dren.

June 9, 2005, at Medical Center of Central
Georgia. Graveside service was held at 4 p.m.
Monday, June 13, 2005, in Magnolia Park
Cemetery. Visitation was from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, June
12, 2005, at McCullough Funeral Home. The family sug

Jackson was bom in Clover, S.C. He retired after serving
30 years as a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He was
a veteran of the Korean War, World War II and Vietnam
War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 594,
1523 Moody Road and the Disabled American Veterans
Association. His parents, Herbert and Harriet Jackson,
preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley K. Jackson of Warner
Robins; son, Philip Jackson (Natalia) of Texas, Herbert C.
Jackson 111 of Milledgeville; daughter, Leah Bauer of
Gilbertsville, Ky.; five grandchildren and four great-grand
children.

Henry Lee Ludwig, 79, passed away Friday, M
June 10, 2005, in Columbus. Services wiU be gBCjSg;
held at 2 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Warner Robins with burial
in Parkway Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Ludwig was born in Avis, Pa., to the late Jacob F. and
Thelma Stabley Ludwig. He served 20 years in the U.S.
Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a
devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife,' Adelina E. Ludwig of
Columbus; son, Jacob L. Ludwig of Warner Robins; daugh
ters, Mary Minick of Atlanta, Elisabeth E. Edge of Ellijay
and Cathy L. Brenner of Byron; brother, Dean Ludwig of
Jersey Shore, Pa.; eight grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic
Church Building Fund at 250 S. Davis Drive, Warner
Robins, GA 31088 in memory of Mr. Ludwig.
Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.

HAYNESVILLE - Laura H. “Frances” Shipes, 67, died
Saturday, June 11, 2005, at a Hawkinsville hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday (TODAY) at
First Baptist Church of Haynesville with interment follow
ing in the church cemetery. The Rev. David Fisher and the
Rev. Gene McKinney will officiate. Vistation was from 6:30
to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.
Shipes, a native of Houston County, was the daughter of
the late Robert and Maebelle (Glenn) Hamsley. She was
retired from Robins Air Force Base civil service, a home
maker and member of the First Baptist Church of
Haynesville.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Charles
Shipes of Haynesville; daughter, Connie Jackson; sons,
Johnnie and Donnie Shipes all of Haynesville; grandchil
dren, Jamie Shipes, Danielle Jackson, Natasha Reitz and
Ella Shipes. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie
Shipes and daughter, Bonnie Shipes.
