He just wanted his gun back from guard

On Saturday, according to
police reports, Michael Brooks,
25, 105 Ivory Drive, Warner
Robins, was arrested for false
report of a crime. Brooks report
edly told police his gun was
stolen from his car at the
American Legion Post on Moody
Road. He changed his story sev
eral times, according to police,
saying his “homeboy" had taken
the gun from the car during a
fight, and then Brooks took it
from him, before a security
guard at the American Legion
Post took the gun from him.
Brooks reportedly admitted final
ly that he reported the gun stolen
because he wanted his gun
back.
Police met with the security
guard at 1:50 a m. He reportedly
said that when the fight was over
he had taken the gun from a
man he knows only as “Brooks.”
About an hour later, police met
with Michael Brooks, who was
making an entering auto com
plaint, when he reportedly said
his gun was stolen, before
changing his story again. The
gun remains in police custody.
Safety check
Corey D. Smith, 21, 105 Smith
Court, Warner Robins, was
arrested for DUI-drugs at a safe
ty checkpoint on Brady Drive at
Phillips Street in Warner Robins
at 12:40 a.m. Sunday. A strong
odor of burnt marijuana report
edly was detected emanating
from the vehicle. Smith said
friends had smoked marijuana in
the car earlier in the day, but his
eyes were bloodshot and glassy,
his pupils dilated and his tongue
'Very drunk-like behavior'

Richard Elie Sears 11, 19,
518 Heritage Drive, Warner
Robins, was arrested follow
ing a single-car wreck on
June 9 at Church Street and
Old Perry Road.
According to incident
reports, Sears was attempt
ing to leave the scene and
was irate when contacted by
a Houston County Sheriffs
deputy, who detected a very
strong odor of an alcoholic
beverage coming from
Sears’ person and breath.
Sears was reportedly acting
restless as emergency med
ical personnel were trying to
treat him as he had visible
injuries to his mouth, nose
and eye area.
He also reportedly became
irate with fire department
personnel, who were trying
to check him out. The driver
was reportedly advised sev
eral times to calm down, and
at one point stated “just
take me to jail” and put his
hand behind his back. The
deputy reported that “the
driver was acting in a very
drunk-like behavior,” and
refused treatment from fire
personnel.
Sears reportedly snatched
away as deputies attempting
to place hands on him.
Deputies than had to take
him to the ground to subdue
him. While on the ground
Sears was reportedly
snatching his arms and
kicking at the deputies, who
finally managed to handcuff
him.
That’s when Sears report
edly made the first of sever
al threats against the
deputies. He allegedly kept
trying to get on his feet, and
spat blood at one of the
deputies. He then allegedly
refused to walk to the trans
port van and had to be car
ried. Once in the van he
reportedly began to slam his
head on the cage in the van.
Authorities at the jail
wanted Sears evaluated for
injuries and his intoxication
level, so he was taken to the
Perry Hospital emergency
room. At the hospital Sears
was placed in a wheelchair
but reportedly kept putting
his feet down was personnel
pushed the chair to stop it
from rolling. He reportedly
continued to act in an intox
icated manner, calling the
deputies and hospital staff
names, making threats to
the deputies, and shouting
obscenities. He also cursed
at his parents, and they left

buds, according to reports. Upon
questioning he reportedly admit
ted to smoking pot around 5-6
p.m. He also admitted to smok
ing a blunt after an officer
noticed odor of marijuana com
ing from driver’s person, accord
ing to a report.
Smith reportedly consented to
field sobriety tests and based on
them, was arrested. He later
consented to urine tests as well.
Open-door policy?
On Friday, police found a blue
Mack Truck parked in the
Maxway lot with the driver’s door
open and the keys in the ignition.
Contact could not be made with
the owner, so the keys taken and
police left a note to come pick
them up a police headquarters.
Taking the mail
Mary McKenzie, 65, 404 N.
Houston Road, Apt. 5, Warner
Robins, was arrested Saturday
morning for theft by taking U.S.
mail. Police reportedly found
mail in her purse from two
Bernard Drive mailboxes and
from three mailboxes on
Oakview Square. A complainant
identified her as the suspect as
well.
Mental state
On Saturday, a patient left the
behavioral unit at Houston
Medical Center, going over the
courtyard wall about 9 a.m.

About four hours after the
initial call, Sears consented
to a blood test. But he also
reportedly spat blood on the
walls and bent the bedrails
by snatching on the hand
cuff, and kicking the rails.
After talking to a family
member, he reportedly fell
asleep. Sears was then taken
to the jail after his intoxica
tion level dropped and med
ical personnel released him.

About 11:04 p.m. police
responded to the hospital where
he had returned in a car stolen
from Byron. As police escorted
the man back inside, he report
edly resisted and tried to flee,
and following a brief scuffle, he
was taken into protective cus
tody and taken to the
Emergency Room for treatment
and evaluation, and later admit
ted to Central State Hospital for
treatment. He reportedly had
abrasions and scratches on his
legs, arms and forehead, which
may have been pre-existing, as
he was taken down on the grass.
He also reportedly takes large
amounts of medication for his
mental state and blood pres
sure.

On Saturday, a woman report
ed that person(s) unknown - but
possibly hired by her ex-hus
band - were keeping her under
surveillance. She was unable to
give a description of people or
vehicles involved, saying “it
could be anyone.”
Between June 9 and
Saturday, person(s) unknown
stole a Macon man’s riding
mower and trailer from his new
Houston County home.

On Saturday, a man reported
that his wife of three weeks -
from whom he is getting a
divorce - stole about $1,840 in
Harley Davidson collectibles,
including license plates, sterling
silver barware, bookends and a
pewter emblem, from his resi
dence.
Between June 9 and
Saturday, a man reported his ex

Family Dollar
prosecutes shoplifters
On Saturday, Janette
Richardson, 50, 210 Wall St.,
Warner Robins, was arrested for
felony shoplifting form the N.
Davis Drive Family Dollar. The
store manager reportedly recov
ered some merchandise includ
ing bars of soap and store brand
shampoo, from the suspect’s
purse before she left the store.
Other items, including tooth
brushes and conditioner, were
not found on her person by
police. Richardson reportedly
has six prior shoplifting convic
tions and the incident was
reportedly captured on the
store’s video surveillance.

On Sunday, Terry Lynn
Matthews, 47, 403 Mauk Circle,
Warner Robins, was arrested for
theft by shoplifting. Matthews
reportedly placed clothing she
brought with her on the shelves
with similar clothing and
“returned” other new items for a
refund of $57.40 - then pur
chased items $42.28 in soda,
cigarettes, candy, bananas and
a toy with the gift card she was
given for the refund. Loss pre
vention personnel reportedly
observed the theft and stopped
Matthews as she was leaving
the store.
Curfew violations
Two 15-year-old girls were

arrested Sunday for violation of
curfew. They reportedly were
spotted by police out walking,
then running from police along
Carl Vinson Parkway at 2:50
a.m. Curfew is midnight. The two
were released to the mother of
one of the girls. They were sup
posed to be spending the night
at the home of the other girl.
Traffic stop
lands three in jail
About 4:40 a.m. Sunday,
police observed a maroon
Mazda driving erratically and ini
tiated a traffic stop. Police
reportedly detected an odor of
alcoholic beverage emanated
from the vehicle and observed
several open containers of alco
hol. The driver, Juan Ramon
Carillo-Herandez, 20, 280 Creek
Cove Drive, Warner Robins, and
passengers, Gregorio Ramirez-
Ramon, 19, and Gustavo
Gonzalez-Martinez, both of 252
Red Fox Run, Warner Robins,
got out and all three were initial
ly charged with drinking under
age. The driver was also
charged with DU I.
After reportedly signing all
booking paperwork, Gonzalez-
Martinez was determined to be
Hugo Guerro, 24, so underage
alcohol charges against him
were dropped, but a charge of
making false statement and writ
ing was added.

Watson Boulevard by an officer
clearing the building after finding
a glass door knocked in. When
asked for ID, George reportedly
said, “it must be in my other
pants." He then reportedly
claimed to have permission to
be there from “some guy in
shorts (who) said it was OK," but
the officer reported that George
“could not clarify this further.”
Additional charges may be file
once the building owners are
contacted.
Alleged burglar
caught at home
Police arrested David Allen
Sapp, 42, 105 Pine Drive,
Warner Robins, at home for bur
glary and criminal trespass -
damage to property on Sunday.
Sapp reportedly stole a paint
sprayer from a home under con
struction on Cartpath Way. The
contractor followed him and told
the driver to return his sprayer or
he would call the police. The
driver reportedly returned the
sprayer covered in white paint
and the complainant provided
police with his tag number and
later identified Sapp from his
license photo on computer.
Police went across the street
from Sapp’s residence and wait
ed for two hours for him to come
home. Sapp reportedly drove up
in the same tan Ford Explorer
that Sapp was reportedly seen
in, and told authorities no one
else had driven it that day. He
denied being in the area of the
incident, but white paint on his
clothing led to his being arrest
ed.
