Aquanauts to host long course meet
By JOE SERSEY
HHJ Sports Writer
For the ninth year, Robins Air Force
Base made its enlisted pool available to
the Warner Robins Aquanauts for their
International City Long Course meet.
“It’s a USS (United States Swimming)
sanctioned meet,” said Aquanauts head
coach James Parker. “Swimmers will be
able to qualify for state.”
The meet begins today at 5 p.m. and
continues through the weekend. The
Saturday and Sunday sessions have been
divided into a morning group for 12-and
under that starts at 9 a.m. The afternoon
events for 13-and-above begin at noon.
Swimmers can compete in two state
level meets. The USS Georgia state meet
and the Georgia Parks and Recreation
state meet for swimmers 14-and-under.
Parker added the Aquanauts have
attended two “good” meets this summer.
Eagles return with
lessons learned

The Northside Eagles
returned from their bas

Southern last week with
some important lessons
learned.
“We realized we’re really
inexperienced,” said assis

Head coach Kevin Smith
was away at a coaching
clinic. “We’re real inconsis

play head and shoulders
above the seniors, but the
next day the seniors play
better than the juniors.
“We played a lot of close
games but didn’t know
how to finish games.”
