WAYNE EDWARD MERCER
WARNER ROBINS - Wayne Edward Mercer, 69, passed
away on Saturday, June 18, 2005, in his home. Graveside
services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005, in
Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family sug
gests donations be made to The American Diabetes
Association, Georgia Affiliate, One Corporate Square, Suite
127, Atlanta, GA 30329.
Mercer was born in Dothan, Ala. He was a member of
First Baptist Church of Warner Robins. He was a humble,
giving, loving man, and loved people. He was an excellent
athlete and the first quarterback for Warner Robins High
School. His parents, Charles and Mabel Mercer, preceded
him in death.
Survivors include his children, Paul (Jessica) Mercer,
Tony (Debbie) Mercer, Cathy Mercer, Donna Dale, Jeannie
Mercer; brother, Ken Mercer; four grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.

Presidential Rank Award

recently released the names
of the 2004 Presidential
Rank Award recipients.
Among them is Maj. Gen.
David E. Tanzi, Air Force
Reserve Command vice com
mander at Robins Air Force
Base.
The awards program was
established to recognize
career senior executive serv
ice and senior professional
people who exemplify the
highest level of integrity,
leadership and personal con
duct and who have demon
strated exceptional perform
ance during an extended
period of time.
The awards are given in
two categories: distin
guished and meritorious.
The distinguished award
is given for sustained
extraordinary accomplish
ments and is limited to 1
percent of the career senior
executive service, defense
intelligence senior executive
service, or senior level scien
tific or professional govem
mentwide population.
The meritorious award is
given for sustained accom
plishment and is limited to 5
percent of the population.
