The Warner Robins American Little League Coach Pitch “White” All-Star team won first place in the West Macon C
ball tournament held this past week. They did so by defeating the Warner Robins American Little League “Red” team

Wildlife division drops pond services
Special to the HHJ
Georgia’s private fish
ponds are a valuable
resource in the state as
approximately 40 percent
of the state’s fishing pres

on tens of thousands of
private ponds according to
the Georgia Department of
Natural Resources, Wildlife
Resources Division.
Since 1960, WRD has
offered technical assis

to pond owners for such
issues as pond construction
and renovation, fertiliza

ing and more.
However, budget cuts
over the past two years
targeted this program, and
funds and personnel are no
longer available to provide
pond technical assistance.
“The thousands of acres
of fish habitat available in
private ponds are impor

on public lakes, rivers, and
streams and in providing
