Fans fascinate over Patrick; Brady prefers porn
Iknow that I have
been publically chas
tised and put in my
proper place as a misogynist
because I think Michelle Wie
should compete with other
women and learn how to win
golf tournaments before she
takes on the PGA, but hey,
“for a penny in for a pound I
always say.”
Let’s try this one on for
size.
What is this fascination
with Danica Patrick?
She seems to be able to
drive a car well enough as
long as there is no traffic.
She just doesn’t seem to be
able to race one.
At every race so far this
season on the Indy Racing
League circuit she has quali
fied well, but then fell back
as soon as the green flag
fell.
Just this past weekend she
qualified on the pole but was
back in the pack before the
first lap was over.
She is fast as lightning
with no other cars on the
oval, but when there is com
petition out there, she just
isn’t able to compete.
Maybe she should follow
my Michelle Wie prescrip
tion and compete out of
Georgia Heat team becomes National Champions
By LISA GILLIAM

Yes ladies you, the
Georgia Heat 14-and-under
Black team, are National
Champions.
Going 5-0 in pool play you
started out strong Thursday
morning recently in elimi
nations facing the Maryland
Xplosion and coming out on
top 5-0.
With the win, that would
be your only game of the
day. On Friday you would
play the Ragin’ Maniacs from
Sarasota, Fla.
After arriving at the ball
park at 6 a.m., warming up
for your 7 a.m. ball game
and then finding out there
are two games to be played
from the afternoon before,
we seemed to get stiff and
not be as focused as we need
ed to be.
Having your first defen
sive errors of the tournament
against a very strong team,
they were able to score four
unearned runs and we left
too many stranded on base
losing to them 4-2.
You then bounced back
and played a very impres
sive game against the Orange
Crush-14 out of Orange,
Texas with a win of 10-1.
This guaranteed us a
return for play on champion
ship day knowing to win it
all, we would have to play six
games back-to-back starting
at 7 a.m. (once again getting
up at 4:30 a.m. for most of

until she learns to race and
then come back to the big
leagues.
As it is, she is perilously
close to becoming the Anna

Wie and Patrick should
keep in mind the career path
taken by ARCA racer Erin
Crocker.
Crocker races on the
ARCA circuit as part of Ray
Evernham’s developmental
program. Crocker has been
a consistent top-five finish

Right from the start we
would face the very impres
sive and solid Gold Coast
Hurricanes out of Davie, Fla.
We both knew the outcome
of this game meant one of us
would be going home.
They jumped out on top
first scoring one in the sec
ond. We came back and tied
it 1-all in the third.
They would once again
score 1 in the 4th. We came
back and tied it 2-2 in the
fifth. Time had expired. This
sent us into a shootout.
They put their runner on
second. She would never be
able to leave that spot due to
our solid. defense. A ground
ball back to the pitcher to be
thrown out at first and then
we had two fly balls to first
base.
We held them 2-2 at that
point. We then put our run
ner on second. A passed ball
advanced her to third. A good
strong at bat with a full count
and our batter walked.
Next a hard shot to their
shortstop and she held the
ball so our runner would not
score.
Bases were loaded at this
point.
Their pitcher would then
throw four straight balls
walking in our winning run.
Final score 3-2.
One down, five to go to
gold.
With that win you girls
really got pumped for what-

compete and will soon move
up to the Busch Series and,
if she does well there, maybe
up to NASCAR.
But if she does it will

Erin Crocker, The Racer.
Of course, if Patrick can
make the kind of money
Kournikvoa does, her racing
failures will not keep her up

Sometimes the stuff that
the 24-hour sports news ser
vices consider to be impor
tant breaking news just
totally befuddles me.
I was listening to the
Macon ESPN Radio outlet
yesterday and the announc
er was breathlessly relating
how Patriot quarterback
Tom Brady had done an
interview with some maga
zine where he revealed -
ever challenge came your
way.
Our dugout was getting so
loud people from all over the
park were coming over to see
what was going on.
Next you would face the
Orlando Titans. A very solid
team and playing on their
home turf, you went up 4-2
in the first.
Neither team would score
again until the fourth with
the Titans putting one on
the board and you were able
to add three more with a win
of 7-4.
Two down and four to go
to gold. Next we would face
the Orange Crush-13 out of
Texas.
You were able to hold them
scoreless as you put a single
run on the board in the first,
third and fifth innings.
You then added three more
in the sxth to come up with a
6-0 victory.
Three down and three to
go to gold.
By this time of the day, the
temperatures were unreal
but the Georgia Heat Black
was just beginning to turn
the "Heat" on and jaws were
beginning to drop in amaze
ment at how you were han
dling the heat and able to
play such strong ball having
to play back to back with
five-10 minute breaks.
Next we would once again
face the Ragin’ Maniacs ...
the team that put us in the
losers bracket on Friday.

drum rolls here for effect -

The announcer was ask
ing for callers to phone in
and give their opinions on
whether or not this would
affect Brady’s career and
public perceptions.
The first caller said he
thought it was a non-issue
but the announcer blew him
off.
I have to agree.
I wonder just what the
percentage there is of 27-
year-old men with a comput
er out there who have NOT
visited Internet porn sites.
Brady is an excellent quar
terback on a winning team.
I think no less of him now
than I did before this scan
dal broke.
I can’t wait for the next
revelation: Peyton Manning
watches South Park.
Giants with feet of clay.
Both teams were pumped
and ready. At the end of the
second inning the score was
tied 3-3.
It would stay that way until
the top of the fifth when you
would put two more on the
board and hold them score
less in the bottom of the
inning.
Once again the HEAT
comes out on top 5-3. Four
down, two to go to gold.
You would now face the
Seminole Warriors... the only
undefeated team in bracket
play.
This meant you had to beat
them twice to accomplish
your goal you had set for
yourselves.
You were able put two on
the board in the first and sec
ond innings going up 4-0.
Both teams would score
one in the third.
We would put one more on
the board in the fourth and
they would add three: Score
6-4.
In the top of the sixth, our
bats really got fired up add
ing six more runs and we
held them scoreless.
Final score 12-4. Five down,
one to go to gold.
After about a 45-minute
lightning delay, the champi
onship game got under way.
Once again your bats were
hot and you jumped out to a
1-0 lead in the first.
You added three more in
the second once again hold
ing them scoreless.
They would add one in the
third.
The score is now 4-1. You
would add three more in the
fourth holding them score
less. They would put two
more on the board in the fifth
and you were able to add one
more. Final score: 7-3.

they watched you play each

Chris Willis recovered a
Lancers’ fumble on the
first play of the scrimmage
on Central Fellowship’s 21
yard line. Three plays later,
Jimmy Intorcia scored his
second touchdown of the
game.
But the second half was
not to be a total repeat of
the first.
Central Fellowship played
Tattnall even, trading
touchdowns. On the ensu

drove 83 yards on 14 plays,
capped by Dameeyon Miles’
one-yard plunge.
“In the second half, we
changed a few things and
got a little bit more effort,”
Card said.
Entering the game with
26 players in uniform, the
Lancers shuttled players in
an attempt to find a suc
cessful combination; chang
es that included rotating
quarterbacks Dante’ Prater
and Brandon Long.
Prater engineered the
first scoring drive, tossing
two passes that resulted in
drive-saving first downs.
Tattnall responded with
its own touchdown to make
the score 41-6 after three
quarters.
Long guided the Lancers’
scoring drive to open the
fourth quarter. His 29-yard
pass to Andre Loyd put the
ball on the Trojans’ 23, and
three plays later, Logan
