Starting with classes in
September, A+ Gymnastics
will be the Houston County
YMCA Northside
Gymnastics Center.
YMCA Executive Director
Rusty Hall said the move
will give the YMCA a pres
ence on the north side of
town. The YMCA’s primary
location is on Moody Road
at Ga. 96.
Hall said the YMCA pur
chased the business and
equipment from A+ owner
Talisha Alligood and will be
assuming her lease of the
9,000-square-foot building
at 1902 D Elberta Road.
Alligood sold the business
after two years on Elberta
Road and four years total in
Warner Robins for an undis
closed price. She is moving
to Milledgeville, as her hus
band is football coach at
Wilkinson County High
School.
“I’m thankful for the two
years there,” she said,
adding she knows the Y will
continue with excellent
gymnastics instruction.
Alligood said she will be
“working very closely make
it a smooth transition.”
He last day is today.
“The YMCA will officially
be over here,” Hall said,
starting Sept. 6, when the
next set of classes is sched
uled.
“Initially, the staff, pro
grams and schedules will
stay the same,” he said.

Houston students score well on AP exams

Advanced Placement (AP) scores have
been released by the College Board for the
2005 test administration. Houston stu
dents performed better than the global
average, as well as the state and southern
region average scores.
AP is an international program of college
level courses and exams for secondary stu
dents. Participating students receive an
academic year of college level instruction
while earning high school credit. Each May
students have the option of taking an AP
exam in their respective course of study.

Police raid Perry

Three suspects jailed after truck and
camper spotted in Perry

Three people were arrest
ed in a nighttime raid on
Kellwood Drive in Perry
Monday, and charged with
cooking methamphetamine
in a camper 300 yards from
the Georgia State Patrol
Post.
Thomas Edward Walters
Jr., 32, of 414 Pennsylvania
Ave., Warner Robins; Nancy
Lynne Woods, 41, of 614
Gresham St., Brookshire,
Texas; and Woods’ husband,
Michael Jerome Woods, 39,
of 1294 Glendale Ave.,
Macon, were charged with
criminal attempt to manu
facture methamphetamine,
manufacturing schedule I-II
drugs and possession with
intent to distribute schedule
I-II drugs.
The Woodses were also
wanted on prior warrants
from the Houston County
Sheriffs Office for theft by
deception and theft by
receiving stolen property.

Department said investiga
tors with the Houston
County drug squad received
a tip Monday afternoon and
contacted Perry Police
shortly after 5 p.m.
Perry Police Sgt. Ron
Brainard drove to the site,
suspected something was
going on, and contacted
Dodson. Around 6 p.m.,
Dodson drove to the site and
saw a camper parked in the
vacant field between Allied
Gas and the Diamond
Lounge. The camper was
behind a maroon 1997 Ford
F-150 pickup truck with
