Pursuant to the Charier of the City
of Perry, as amended, and the Georgia
Municipal Election Code as amended
through the regular 2005 Session of
the Georgia General Assembly, the
election of a Mayor and
Councilpersons to Council District 1,
Post 1, Council District 2, Post 1, and
Council District 3, Post 1, for a term of
four (4) years beginning January 1,
2006. shall be held under the following
terms and conditions:
1.
Said election shall be held on the
Tuesday next following the first
Monday in November, to wit:
November 8, 2005
2.
In the event a runoff election is nec
essary, said runoff election will be held
on Tuesday. December 6. 2005
3.
The conduct of the election or any
necessary runoff election shall be held
pursuant to the provisions of the laws
of the State of Georgia as enacted and
amended Provided further, the
Charier provisions of the City of Perry
Charier and amendments thereto shall
be in force and effect where same
were not repealed or modified by the
laws of the State of Georgia.

For the purpose of this election, or
any necessary runoff election, the
office of the Houston County Board of
Elections at the Houston County
Government Building located at 801
Mam Street. Perry. Georgia is desig
nated as the office of the municipal
superintendent of the election. The
municipal superintendent and poll offi
cials shall be named and designated
by the Houston County Board of
Elections
5.
Direct Recording Electronic (DRE)
equipment shall be used for the con
duct of this election or any necessary
runoff election
6.
The place of holding the election or
any necessary runoff election shall be
in the Perry Primary School
Gymnasium in the City of Perry,
Georgia.

Each candidate for the office shall
file notice of his or her candidacy in
said office of the Houston County
Board of Elections on or before
September 16, 2005 at 4:30 o'clock
p.m. but not prior to September 12,
2005 at 8:30 o'clock a m. and a candi
date for a council member shall desig
nate the district and post to which he or
she seeks election. A candidate for
Council must meet the residency
requirements as set forth in Section
2.11 of the City of Perry Charier.

The hours of the election shall be
between 7 o'clock a m. and 7 o’clock
p.m. on said November 8, 2005. In the
event a runoff election becomes nec
essary. said runoff election shall be
between 7 o'clock a m. and 7 o’clock
p.m on December 6, 2005.
9.
The qualification fee for Mayor is
$288.00 and for Council Post is
$126.00.
10.
Any person who is a resident of the
City of Perry and who is registered as
an elector with the Houston County
Board of Elections shall be eligible to
vote in the election or the runoff elec
tion. The Houston County Board of
Elections shall cease taking applica
tions for registration from persons
desiring to vote in this election on the
close of the registrar's business on
October 11, 2005. This notice relative
to application for registration and regis
tration deadline is given in accordance
with Section 21-2-224 of the Official
Code of Georgia Annotated

You are the alleged biological father of
the child at issue in this matter, and
you have not surrendered your
parental rights to this child, to the
knowledge of the petitioner. This is to
notify you, pursuant to O.C.G.A.
Section 15-11-96(h), that you will lose
all rights to the child at issue in this
action and you will not be entitled to
object to the termination of your rights
to the child unless, within 30 days of
your receipt of this notice you file:
(1) A petition to legitimate the child
pursuant to O.C.G.A. Section 19-7-22;
and
(2) Notice of the filing of the petition
to legitimate with the Court in which the
action under this code section is pend
ing, which is the Juvenile Court of
Houston County, Georgia.
A biological father who is not the
legal father loses all rights to the child
and the Court shall enter an Order ter
minating all such father’s rights to the
child and such father may not there
after object to the termination of his
rights to the child if within 30 days from
his receipt of the notice provided for in
O.C.G.A. Section 15-11-96(e), he:
(1) Does not file a legitimation peti
tion and give notice as required in
O.C.G.A. Section 15-11-96(h);
(2) Files a legitimation petition which
is subsequently dismissed for failure to
prosecute; or
(3) Files a legitimation petition and
the action is subsequently concluded
without a Court order declaring a find
ing that he is the legal father of the
child.
Said parents are hereby command
ed to be and appear before said Court
at said time and place to show cause,
if any there is, why their Parental
Rights should not be Terminated.
