Perry to sell advance
tickets for heme games
Perry High School will sell
tickets for each of its home
games each Thursday and
Friday before the game.
The cost for advance tickets
is $5 for students and $7 for
adults - a $1 savings on the
adult ticket.
Tickets can be purchased at
the front office of the school
from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

to contend at
senior event

to contend in the Georgia
State Golf Association’s
19th Annual Georgia
Senior Championship
today through Friday at
the Doublegate Country
Club in Albany.
The format is 54 holes
of stroke play over three
days. After 36 holes, how
ever, the field will be cut
to the low 70 and ties.
This marks the second
year the championship
will feature a cut and be
contested without flights.
According to a GSGA
release, with the addition
of the Senior Challenge
to the GSGA competi
tions schedule begin
ning in 2004, the Senior
Championship field and
format were revised to bet
ter serve the lower-handi
cap seniors in Georgia.
Entries were open to
male amateur golfers who
are at least 55 years old as
of Aug. 31, members of a
GSGA Member Club and
residents of Georgia.
The champion wins the
Johnny Skeadas Trophy,
given by his family in
honor of the two-time
champion from Savannah.
Skeadas’ first win came
in 1987 at The Landings
Club’s Plantation Course.
He won again in 1992 at
Coosa Country Club in
Rome.
This will be the
first Georgia Senior
Championship for
Doublegate.
