Centerville will help
rebuild the police depart
ment in the city that local
authorities assign them to
protect. Their mission will
be twofold: Stop the ram
pant crime and rebuild the
local police. The bravery of
Centerville’s police will
secure their assigned area,
while the generosity of the
City of Centerville will help
the Mississippi police, once
again, become self sufficient.
Pardo and his officers will
be traveling with the
Tactical Unit Trailer and
several 4x4 police vehicles to
the affected area. Along
with their own equipment,
the Centerville Police will be
bringing essential equip
ment to the local police.
Centerville is donating bul
letproof vests, police lights
and uniforms. Pardo said
Giant Foods has donated a
massive supply of fresh
drinking water; while the
Air Force is supplying
Meals, Ready to Eat
(MREs). Two private citi
zens, Denise Durdin and
Georgia Invitational Golf Tournament set for Sept. 22-23

Golfers are invited to play
in the 16th Annual Museum
of Aviation Foundation
Georgia Invitational Golf
Tournament Sept. 22-23 at
the Pine Oaks Golf Club at
Robins Air Force Base in
Warner Robins.
Since 1990, the mega tour
nament has raised a total of
over $3.3 million for the
Museum of Aviation - one of
the largest and fastest-grow
ing aviation museums in the
country.
The two-day tournament
is the largest golf outing in
Middle Georgia each year
and is made up of three sep
arate rounds on Thursday
and Friday with separate
prizes for each round. The
total value of Ping golf
equipment, other prizes and
giveaways is over $30,000.
Foursomes will compete in a
“scramble” handicapped for
mat. Tee times are noon on
Thursday and 8 a.m. and
1:30 p.m. on Friday.
The Honorary Chairman
of this year’s tournament is
U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss,
who is expected to play in
the tournament. Honorary
Co-Chairmen are U.S. Sen.
Johnny Isakson and U.S.
Reps. Jack Kingston and
Jim Marshall. Former U.S.
Sen. Sam Nunn, who helped
initiate the event 15 years
Man arrested in
Centerville burglary
Officers of the Centerville
Police Department respond
ed to 108 Benjamin Road
just after noon Tuesday in
reference to a reported bur
glary in progress, according
to reports.
Upon arrival, they met
with the homeowner, who
said his home was apparent
ly being burglarized.
Centerville Police Det.
Michael R. Earl said some
people were moving items
out of a residence. Soon
after, an unidentified sub
ject ran from the home, and
the officers gave chase.
The suspect was appre
hended shortly thereafter at
a nearby Brantley Drive
trailer park, and is identi
fied as Leonard Rossman
Partain Jr., 20, Byron.
Centerville Police Chief
Ernie Pardo said Tuesday
that investigators got a con
fession.

suspect earlier Tuesday,
after chasing him down in a
local trailer park.

the Warner Robins Police
Department responded to a
reported armed robbery that
took place on Terrell Street
near its intersection with
Brett Avenue.
The 23-year-old male vic
tim told police five or six
men wearing dark clothing
assaulted him. During the
assault the victim was
struck in the back of the
head with an unknown hard
object.
The assailants took sever
al undisclosed items from
the victim’s pockets and the
victim received a laceration
on the back of his head dur
ing the attack. He was treat
ed and released from
Houston Medical Center,
according to reports.

apprehension of two “ani

Having heard a radio report
of shoplifting at Belk
Matthews and J.C. Penney
in the Galleria Mall, Wright
raced to the scene and

who allegedly stole over
