Saturday, March 25
• Corvettes Limited of Central
Georgia will hold its 11th annual
car show, “Corvettes on the
Mall”, Saturday, March 25th,
from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the
Galleria Mall in Centerville.
Proceeds from registration of
Corvette owners and all other
events such as door prizes will
be donated to assist the Mohler
family with the illness of their
son Benjamin who has aplastic
anemia and will have a bone
marrow transplant from his older

• A reunion of the Macon County
High School classes of 1963,
1964, 1965 and 1966 will be
held at the McKenzie Memorial
Country Club in Montezuma,
starting at 6:30 p.m. with a
“meet and greet.” Heavy hors
d’oeuvres will be served starting
around 7:30 p.m. The band will
begin playing at 8 p.m.
• Warner Robins Little Theatre
will host a Casino Fun Night
fund-raiser from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
at America’s Best Inn & Suites,
1440 Watson Blvd., Warner
Robins. Poker, blackjack, rou
lette and craps will be offered.
Door prizes will be awarded
throughout the evening. The
grand prize is roundtrip air for
two to any Air Tran destination.
It will be awarded to the par
ticipant who has accumulated
the most chips at the end of the
evening. S6O entrance fee cover
food and drinks and the first 250

OBITUARY
HOWELL P. CHAPMAN
PERRY - Howell P Chapman, 76, died at _
Serenity Gate on Mar 22, 2006, Graveside
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at
Evergreen Cemetery in Perry. The family sug
gests contributions to Serenity Gate at the
Perry Hospital.
He was the son of the late Homer P and Lillian Phillips
Chapman. He lived his early years on a farm near Perry
and his adult life in Perry. Howell was in the Korean War
attached to the 45th Infantry Division. He was awarded the
Japan Occupation Medal, Korean Service Medal with one
Bronze Service Star, United Nations Service Metal with one
Overseas Service Bar and the Combat Infantry Badge.
Survivors include brothers; Harris Chapman and Bill
Chapman, both of Perry; sister, Mary Becham of Perry. He
was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Chapman.

Burglary suspect
turns self in to WRPD

Joey Ronald Merritt, 26,
Butler, turned himself into
the Warner Robins Police
Department on Tuesday.
Police had received three
reports from Barnes Glass
Company, 68 Green St., since
Feb. 26, including being
burglarized on two occa
sions, reported on Feb 26
and March 17, and a March
17 financial t’ransaction
card fraud report reporting
a former employee used a
company credit card on two
occasions at a local conve
nience store for gas without
permission.
“We had a warrant
signed for the suspect for
the credit car fraud and the
store had him on surveil
lance video, said Det. Brad
Mules of the Warner Robins
Police Department Criminal
Investigations Division.
He came in for that, Mules
said, and while we were
processing him for those
charges, talking with him,
he admitted to the burglary
charges.
Charity poker run
set for Saturday
Town and Country Motorsports and Irlene Mandrell will
host a “Wish Upon a Star” charity poker run on Saturday.
Registration is from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. last bike out is at 11
a.m.. There will be a silent auction, a live band and food.
The event will be at 581 Carl Vinson Parkway in Warner
Robins.

MERRITT
Merritt, a former employ
ee, was charged with bur
glary for the burglary that
occurred on Feb. 26, party to
the crime of burglary for his
involvement in the burglary
reported March 17, and two
counts of financial transac
tion card fraud for the use of
the Barnes Glass Company
credit card on Feb. 20 and
Feb. 21.
Merritt was transported
to the Houston County jail
where he is currently being
held without bond.
