The two aforementioned
cases came in the fourth
inning, the first via Kyle
Gordon. With the first
two Seminole runners of
the inning reaching, the
third hit a fly ball to him
in right field. He dropped
it. But, he also kept it in
front of him. Both run
ners figuring it would
be a catch held the bag
for a chance to tag. That
was bad news because
once Gordon dropped
it, he also picked it up
and zipped it into Kevin
Gifford at shortstop. He
then turned and fired it to
Justin Felcan at third for
the force-out.
The next batter hit a
ball deep to left center.

Warner Robins hosted the Demon Invite golf tournament Saturday at the Landings.
The Demons came into the match - in a field of 15 teams - as defending champions
but were dethroned by Statesboro and a few others (including Houston County).
Statesboro shot a team total of 316. They were followed by Colquitt County at 317, Tift
County 318 and the Bears at 319. Vidalia and Warner Robins both finished with 323.

Demons 4 XIOO team posts wins at Clemson

Warner Robins’ 4 XIOO
relay team was in action
again this weekend at a meet
at Clemson University.
Different venue, same
results as Tavie Anderson,
Maurice Gray, Laron Scott
and Dartez Walker, once
again finished first - this
time crossing the line with a
time of 41.53.
The group, this quartet
were the only ones from the
school taken, also posted a
first in the 4 X 200 with a
time of 128.7.
Anderson was also first
in the 100-yard dash, while
Gray was fifth in that event
and Laron Scott was second
in the long jump. This par
ticular meet, Warner Robins
boys head track and field
coach Mark Taylor said, was
also a joint high school/col
lege meet. Had the boys run
against the college field in the
4 X 100, they would have fin
ished second, Taylor said (to
the University of Georgia).

Or better, he added, consid

have been pushed harder.
As far as what’s next
Taylor said it’s time to focus
on state.
“I mean I’ve taken them
everywhere I can,” he said.
Not everywhere. Following
the state meet, he said he
is eyeing one other: the

So much tighter in fact
that Bailey called on his

The first half didn’t see
