Class of 1956 held their
50th anniversary reunion on
Friday and Saturday. They
enjoyed an informal party on
Friday night at the Houston
Lake Country Club, and met
again Saturday morning in
their old high school audi
torium for the unveiling of
a portrait of their coach
and principal, “Fessor” Eric
Staples, who led their bas
ketball team to a state cham
pionship their senior year.
They also honored a number
of their teachers.
On Saturday night, the
classmates held a candle
light ceremony in memory
of deceased classmates, fol
lowed by adinner at Langston
House at Henderson Village.
