standing achievement at
the recent conference of the
Cooling assistance program available

Georgia’s Cooling
Assistance Program is
already available for the
homebound and elderly and
on June 12 for all other eli
gible households.
The program offers
financial assistance to low
income, elderly and handi
capped households to help
pay their home codling
costs.
Applicants should contact
their local neighborhood
service center for more
information. To be eligible
for assistance, households
must have an income at or
below 150 percent of the
federal poverty level.

Committee working
on county plan sets
public (orum dates
The Houston County
Comprehensive Planning
Committee, a group working
on a 20-year guide for the
future of the county, plans
to hold two public forums
on the plan this month.
The joint Houston County
Comprehensive Plan,
required to secure certain
state funding, is a guide for
the future development of
the area.
Residents and busi
ness representatives from
Houston County, Centerville,
Perry and Warner Robins
are encouraged to attend
the meetings.
Forums will be held on
Thursday, June 22 at the
Voter Registrars Association
of Georgia.
The conference was
attended by 472 registrars,
elections officials and board
of election members from
across the state.
