From left, Ron Smith, Mary Therese Tebbe, Derry Watson, Guy Starling, Eddie
Wiggins and George Slappey hold a $50,000 check donated by Security Bank to
kick off the 21st Century Partnership’s 2006-2010 Capital Campaign. The 21st
Century Partnership is a non-profit organization that serves as the community
partner to Robins Air Force Base. The Partnership’s mission is “Staying Prepared
... Shaping the Future”. In following that mission the group identifies and mitigates
threats to Robins’ future while orchestrating community actions that enhance the
military value of Robins. “Being a Defense Community is a full-time job" according
to 21st Century Partnership executive director Mary Therese Tebbe. “We are not
some reactionary group for when BRAC comes around. You prepare for a BRAC
every day. Garnering continual community support for Robins and working the
issues that need to be worked to grow the mission at Robins ... that’s the focus of
the 21st Century Partnership.”
