Celebrating our independence
By Abigail Davis
Special to the HHJ
Once a year as citizens of
the United States, we recog
nize our independence with
fireworks, barbecues and
picnics at the lake.
Some cities hold
parades, patriotism is
high and in the backs of
our minds, we may think
of the Declaration of
Independence and those
who serve to insure our
freedoms, our indepen
dence.
For those who believe in
a power greater than them
selves, Independence Day
BRIEFS
From page 3B
meetings are held at Unity
Baptist Church of Bonaire
every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Case time follows at 8:30
p.m. Child care is avail
able. Unity Baptist Church

should hold an even greater
significance as it insures the
freedom to worship as one
chooses.
As Christians, we were
given the greatest gift of
independence, for we were
given His Son. Through His
blood, we are given the abili
ty to start each day anew; we
are freed from the bonds of
sin and the ties of this world,
if only we choose to ask.
Through belief in Christ
Jesus we are promised
everlasting life (John 3:16)
