Austria?War Preparations Expensive:
It is estimated that Austria's martial
preparations are costng $200,000 daily,
a gigantic sum, which, it is believed,
will not be re-imbursed in any way. The
burden is increasing as the imperial army
is mobilized in inaccessible spots on the
Servian frontier. Servia has decided to
refer her case to the European powers
for adjustment, and assurance are given
by the government that it will abide
by the ruling.
Turkey?An Agreement Reached: Signatures
have been placed to the. AustroHungarian-Turkish
protocol. Under the
agreement Turkey gets ten and one-half
million of dollars indemnity for the annexation
of Bosnia and Herzegovina by
Austria. This ends the boycott on Turkish
goods.
