the Huguenot Evangelical Society,
held at the J-'irst Presbyterian church,
Richmond. Rev. \V. H. Hurkhardt.

of Hev. J. <!. Scott, who resinned af
ter two years of faithful service. .Mrs.
T. A. Cary, president of the Executive
(Committee, also after many years of
service, felt obliged to resign. Miss
Kate F. Meade was elected in her
place. All the other officers were re
elected.
The following is a part of a letter
received hv the treasurer from Hev.
Daniel Monod, who is supported by
tin* society. He is pastor at May
beuge, an important Home Mission
station of t lie* Protestant Church of
France, lie writes, on September 7th,
that lie had just been able to move
into tin* manse which was begun be
fore the war and is now at last com
pleted. Of the church, which was bad
ly injured during the war, he says:
? We hope to complete its restoration
during this year." lie then goes on
to say: "I have a colleague this year.
Ilefore the war there was a second
pastor, who had especial charge of
the popular work at Kotis-le-llois. We
could not replace him after the war.

ber it would be with joy and grati

The* year lwis been good in a general
way. Having the new pastor has al
lowed me to begin again many of our
pre-war activities, which I could not
manage alone. The Thursday school

over last year. From 10 to 11:3"

of the life of Jesus. From 2 to
o'clock they are taught popular songs,
and from 3 to 4 the nit'ls sew and
the hoys do different kinds of work.
