and Christian Endeavor charts are
very much in evidence, and are play
ing a large part in the work of the
young people. Throughout the state
the Church Loyalty Campaign is be
ing stressed by the Christian Endea
vor leaders, with the result that the
Endeavorers are using their Christian
Endeavor training to carry out the
programs of their own church. The
following phases of Christian Endea
vor work are being carried out in Mis
sissippi: Training Classes in Personal
Work, Sunday-school Methods, Ex
pert Endeavor, Home and Foreign
Missions, Community Work, Prison
Work, Physical Classes, Bible Study,
and Evangelistic Work. At Pontotoc
eighteen young men and women have
caught the vision of full time service
and are preparing themselves for ser
vice in the ministry and foreign fields.
At Sumner the Endeavorers are pay
ing the expenses of a ministerial stu
dent through college. The gospel mes
sage Is being carried to the prisoners
in the state prison at Rome, through
the local Endeavorers and a Sunday
School is being conducted for the pris
oners. Endeavorers at Oxford are
conducting a Sunday School for the
colored people. These are only a few
of the things being done "for Christ
and the Church" by the Endeavorers
of Mississippi.

LAREDO. TEXAS.
The Laredo Church has just com
pleted a week's Sundayuschool and
Young People's Institute In which it
united with the Christian Church of
this city. These two churches united
in this project because the field work
ers of the Christian Church in the
state, Mr. Hutton and Miss Smoot,
and our representative, Mr. Fuller
ton, have been cooperating in the
holding of institutes, and because
both churches unite in using the Chris
tion Endeavor as their official young
people's organization. The institute
was planned with a two fold purpose,
instruction in methods, and inspira
tion. The afternoon periods were
given to conference work, while the
evening sessions were inspirational.
The original faculty chosen for this
work were: Mr. H. C. Fullerton, our
field representative; Dr. P. B. Hill,
pastor of the First Presbyterian
Church of San Antonio, and Miss Max
ine Smoot, elementary field superin
tendent of Sunday-school work for
the Christian Church in the states of
Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. How.
ever, at the last moment Mr. Fuller
ton and Dr. Hill were taken with
dengue fever and were prevented from
being present. Rev. Edward Owers,
pastor of the Hyde Park Christian
Church of Austin, was secured, and
the work went on. With these two
workers who did not spare themselves,
the entire program was carried out,
and both the work of the Sunday
School and of the Young People's So
cieties will gcf forward with renewed
energy because of this institute. A
