THE RUME TRIB' NE, TUESDAY. JULY 3.
SOME TALKS.
When the question of water was be
ing discussed, the other day John Bap
tist said, "After having traveled half
around the world, I never found better
water than that which came from
Rome’s old water works, but now ”
Here several candy customers appeared
and the matter was dropped
It is hard to find a more neatly kept
store and one abounding in more things
that the higher class of trade seeks after
than, the well known emporium of
Thomas Fahy on Broad street. Through
out this big establishment, with its large
force of salesmen and salesladies, the
most perfect system prevails, and every
thing finds its place with a regularity
that is remarkable. The business shows
in every department the genius of the
man behind it—quiet, undemonstrative,
but’always to the point, Thomas Fahy.
A concern in Rome which enjoys a
steady and regular business regardless
of dull times is the carriage and buggy
manufactory of R. H. Jcnes & Son.
Manager Bob Williams states that they
are now away behind on orders, and
that they are increasing every day. In
a few days they will turn out some work
which willpje worth going a long way
to see.
A summer lecture course is being
talked of among people literarily in
clined, and something of the kind could
not fail to result in much good and
would cost but little. 'lt is suggested to
get such men as Prof. Charles Lane,
of Atlanta, to deliver two or more lec
tures, and then Dr. Battle might be en
gaged for three or four, and Dr. Gibson,
although it is not generally known, has
an excellent lecture, and so has Dr.
Robbins, of Atlanta. If these gentlemen
and many others could be induced to
dispense what little fun, and even
pathos is in them, it would afford much
entertainment to the community, and
some recreation to the preachers.
TIRED, WEAK, NERVOUS,
Means impure blood, and overwork or
too much strain on brain and body. The
only way to cure is to feed the nerves
on pure blood. Thousands of people
certify that the best blood purifier, the
best nerve tonic and strength builder is
Hood’s Sarsaparilla. What it has done
for others it will also do for you—Hood’s
Cures.

ANOTHER MURDER.
The Mystery beeper Than Ever—No Cue
to be Found.
There has been another terrible mur
der right here in the heart of Rome, and
Stark Burney, the tailor is the prepetra
tor of the crime. His big fall stock of
goods will be coming in soon and to
make room for them, he will close out
all light colored summer suits cheaper
than ready made clothing, and at about
half what other tailors charge. He will
make them up,trim and fit them as well
as the best tailor in the land can do it,
and Mr. Burney says, he has a fifty dol
lar bill which says the trimmings on
these suits is the very best in Rome.
Mr. Burney means business and if
you don’t believe him, just call at his
pants factory and see. 6t

SSSMII
Rev. Father Clarke, Sec’y to the Rt. Rev. Bishop
of Columbus, Ohio, writes;
Gsvtlkmex:— l cannot say enough for your Powder. It has
cured me of an aggravated attack of catarrh when nothing else
could help me. Am delighted with it. All my friends to whom
I administered samples are quite enthusiastic over it. The
good sisters speak most encouragingly of their use of it in the
Hospital under their care. I will do anything to speak a good
word for the remedy to help others who arc suffering.
M. E. Ferguson, Custodian U. S. Appraiser’s Stores,
Chicago, writes:
Gbrtlkmbm:— Being almost entirely deaf fora number of
years past and getting no relief from many so-called cures
which 1 tried, was induced by a friend to try Dr. Birney’sCa
tarrhal Powder for my deafness. Have recovered my hearing
entirely, so that I ean now hear a watch tick plainly, it being
held 18 inches from my ear I look upon it as a positive cure
for deafness and have recommended its use to many of my
friends and can say I have never heard of a case where it ha*
failed to relieve.
