The subject of this sketch, one of
file brightest and best attorneys in
this section, was born in Savannah
in the latter part of 1849, moving to
Kome in 1878, he practiced law here
until 1879. 111 1877 he was elected a
member of-the eity council and was
re-elected without opposition for a
second term. On account of a slight
trouble with his hearing and becom
ing' afflicted with acute indigestion he
n/oved to the country for the benefit
of his health. In 1887 he returned to
the city, entering into partnership
with Mr. L. A. Dean, which partner
ship continued until 1894 when he
was elected city attorney and clerk of
council.
He has made a splendid reputation
as a lawyer and especially in the real
estate line and still carries on a gen
eral practice. He is general counsel

tion and represents the legal depart
ment of other loan associations. No
lawyer excels him in corporation law
from which he has made an exhaus
tive study.
Combined with his- great ability as
’ a lawyer his deep learning and im
pressive ability as an orator he has a
personal magnetism which makes for
him friends of ali with whom he comes
in contact and holds them to him as
warm admirers. He is a genial gentle
man, and pleasant companion which
is a most happy combination, with
such legal ability as has- made him
one of the first lawyers in this section-,
of the state.
■ HON. MOSES R. WRIGHT.
Hon. Moses R. Wright, having;
proved his ability as a law maker,,
now proposes to demonstrate his*
efficiency as an interpreter of the
same in the position of solicitor gen
eral of the Rome circuit.
He is a son of Hon. Augustus K.
Wright and has inherited a very large

share of the brilliancy of his sire, and
adds to that a large amount of native
talent and ability all his own. Born
and bred in Floyd county, he is es
sentially a Georgian. His education
began here, ami he afterwards grad
uated at the University of Georgia.
With the exception of a few months,
in Tennessee, he has never lived any
where except in Georgia, and in Floyd
county. ,
Although still a young man he is
recognized, and has been for some
time, as one of the very best and most
successful lawyers of this section. He
combines a thorough knowledge of
legal principles, with technical train
ing, and on top of that has inherited
rrom his father an eloquent and grace
ful delivery that puts him in the front
rank of speakers of the state. His
popularity before the people isshown
by his leading all candidates in the
race for the legislature, he now
being one of Floyd’s three representa
fives. Everybody in the county
knows Mose Wright, and all have
great admiration for him, _ for
his kindness of heart. uniform
courtesy ami good will. The people
f feel that he is one of them.| a F’oyd
county boy from the famous Flat
‘ woods district and are proud of his
record and attainments realizing that
in them is the stuff that makes great
1 men.
With his natural gifts, his educa
tion, his honesty of purpose, his
strong desire to help the people, keen
sense of justice and right, it is not
[ strange that Mose Wright's name is
such a synonym o-f success.
In his race for the legislature, the
i first political office he ever aske.l for,
he led the ticket and as the
representative of the grand old county
of F.oyd he acquitted himselr with
fidelity, honor and 1 distinction. If
elected solicitor the people may expect
brilliant, honest and faithful service
from Hon. Mose Wright.

the University ofiGeorgia for a couple j
