Greetings over, we wish to write it down that we are ready for the Fall Business, and to say
that we want your patronage. We shall bid for it by trying to deserve it, and thank you in advance
for such patronage as you may give us during the season. We have sought, without spare of money,
’to anticipate the wants of the people. We have undertaken to give that completeness and that read
iness to every department of the store never before achieved.
The best buying talent in Rome has represented us this season in the country’s great trade centers, while one
of our buyers has spent much time buying in foreign markets. Three-fourths of our entire imported dress goods
stock was bought by him in Germany. Our Laces, Dress Trimmings, Handkerchiefs, Gloves and Fancy Articles he
■secured at their very fountain head, in Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and France. They are now in stock, shipped in
before the uptilt of import duties. We bought our goods, nearly sß,ooo worth, before the high tariff went into effect
and in the face of certain advance we shall sell them at old prices. have ever given our patronage the benefit
of good purchases. We’ll not depart from the practice now. This great stock of select merchandise will be re
tailed at prices as low as if the old tariff had never been disturbed. Goods are now much higher at the factories
and in the hands of jobbers. We offer a remarkable opportunity to buyers. Our prices are much lower than you
will find elsewhere.

It is known to our patrons that for years we have made shoes a leading number,
with Krippendorf’s fine makes a specialty. This department we intend to still further
improve, keeping the stock full of the prettiest and best patterns in all sizes and shapes.
The department shall be a great, faultless store within itself. Mr. Benton Owens will
be in charge of the department, Mr. Owens is endowed with splendid native ability,
and has long training as a salesman in Rome. Courteous always, as he is, obliging ever
with closest prices, we foresee a popularity for the department enjoyed by but very few
want to fill your requirements in shoes as well as in other lines. Large stock of
new-make leggings, over-gaiters, fleeced soles, shoe polish, etc,, just received.
NOTIONS, ETC.
Silk corset laces, assorted colors,
a sort of souvenir from Paris to our
trade. We leave off the pt J fit and
make the price 25c.
Assorted patterns real lace hand
kerchiefs—Mosaics, Gothics and
Renaissance, bought in Brussels
and Venice. Any customer of. ours
may have one—only one—at just
what it cost us. We thus make
answer, in little measure, to ou:
feeling of gratitnde to friends for
past patronage.
A number of pieces of real Val
enciennes Lace. We put them just
as the handkerchiefs. If the oppor
tunity to buy these fine goods is
improved by patrons the pay to us
will be ample.

A world of handkerchiefs, gloves,
laces, etc., bought by our Mr. Bass
in Belgium. Switzerland, Italy and
France. We sell them in Rome at
half price. Buy them from us.
Ladies’ and Men’s knit under
wear, neckwear, suspenders, Toilet
articles, hair ornaments, combs
belts, purses, crochet cottons, zeph
yrs, germantown wools, embroidery
silks, etc. We have always sold
these goods lowest. We’ll continue
to sell them lowest.
