Thursday at Treutlen
High School, senior Ben
Foskey signed his letter of
intent to wrestle for the
Lions of Emmanuel Col
lege in Franklin Springs,
GA. Foskey played mul
tiple sports for the Vi
kings but chose to head
to college to wrestle.
Foskey said, “I feel
like I made the right
choice to attend Emman
uel College, they have a
beautiful campus and the
coach made me feel right
at home. I want to thank
my coaches, family and
friends for always push
ing and supporting me. I
am excited to get started
on continuing my educa
tion and wrestling career.”
Treutlen Head Wres
tling Coach Dwight Love
added, “Ben started
young and worked hard
and I am excited for him
to have this opportunity
to attend college and be
able to pursue what he
wants to do. Ben has al
ways been a really nice
kid and sometimes in
wrestling it is hard to flip
that switch and be aggres
sive. I know that he is go
ing to do well at the next
level.”
Mechelle Foskey, his
mother, stated, “We are
really proud of Ben. He
has been wrestling since
he was six years old. He
played football, baseball
and wrestled but he really
excelled at wrestling and
we are thankful that he
has received this oppor

with solo home runs to
give the Eagles a 2-0 lead
over the Warriors.

run in the top of the
fourth inning to close it
to 2-1, and in the top of
the fifth they tied the
game at 2-2. But in the
bottom of the frame, the
Eagles got an RBI hit
from Curl to put them
back on top.
Heritage got a couple
of big defensive plays in
the top of the sixth inning
to keep the Warriors off
the scoreboard. VHA
couldn't get anything go
ing in the bottom of the
inning to extend their
lead, sending the game to
the top of the seventh
with the Eagles still up by
one.
After two outs,
Beacham struck out the
final batter to secure the
win for the Eagles in
Game 1, 3-2.

runner, but up next was
Cofield, who drove in
Beacham for a 4-0 lead.
On the throw into home

Steak
continued from page 1B
bad steak score well. This
weekend they got to play
with good steak so we had
some of the best meat that
they could ever fool with.
They showed up and did
what they do with them
and the scores proved that.
Our perfect score in our
sport is 254.5. We had yes
terday, 18 of our 26 com
petitors got 250 points or
more. And today, on Sun
day, in one of the fields, we
ended up with at least 10,
at least half the field, that
scored 250 plus.
“Thank you, Lyons
Main Street, for putting
this on, for getting an event
where our cooks are will
ing to travel to come from
all over the country to
come to it, even on Moth
er’s Day weekend. There’s
a lot of mommas out there
cooking too. Thank y’all,
it’s been a very fun week
end and we look forward
to it again!”
Many of the competi
tors and the event promo
tor for SCA also com
mented on the quality of
the meat that they were
able to cook with over the
weekend. All meat was
provided by Thriftway
Galaxy Food Center of Ly
ons. They said it was even
better quality than the
American Wagyu steaks
that they cooked with re
cently at a competition in
Alabama.
Vidalia's own Andy
Clarke from Clarke Appli
ance placed 2nd and 5th
place respectively on Sat
urday. He also received a
golden ticket to head to the
2021 World Champion

a thrilling Class AA quar

GACS got revenge on
the Indians in 2014 and
2015 on the gridiron, and
knocked off the defend
ing State Champion Indi
ans in 2004 on the dia
mond before losing to
eventual State Champion
Bacon County in the next
round.
We have a history
against GACS. Since
they’ve moved up to
