Mrs. Doris Moore
Mrs. Doris Davis
Moore, age 83, of Tarry-
town, died Tuesday, June
8, 2021, at Community
Hospice in Vidalia after
a brief illness. She was a
lifelong resident of Mont
gomery County, growing
up in Higgston and liv
ing on Thompson Pond
Road most of her life. She
was a homemaker, and a
member of the Old Line
Primitive Baptist Church
in Vidalia. She enjoyed
flowers, yard work, cook
ing, her grandchildren;
and watching the Braves
and Bulldogs. She is pre
ceded in death by her hus
band, Daniel F. Moore;
son, Ronnie W. Moore;
parents, Pearlie Davis and
Ua Mae Kennedy Davis;
and two siblings, Lewis
Davis and Ann Davis Wil
liamson.
Survivors include two
children, Kyle A. Moore
of Columbia, South Car
olina, and Lane Moore
Morris and husband Larry
of Higgston; one brother,
Charles Davis and wife
Vela of Alley; five grand
children, Wendy Paulk
and husband Joel, Jennifer
Moore Kervin, all of Do
than, Alabama, Matthew
Moore and wife Katie,
Kyla Moore Legaspi, all
of Watkinsville, and Jor
dan Morris McIntyre and
husband Ian of Charlotte,
North Carolina; eight
great-grandchildren, Cole,
Taylor, Karaline, Jessi,
Riley, Desmond, Walker,
Teddy; a great-grandchild
to be born in the fall; and
several nieces and neph
ews.
The funeral service
was Friday, June 11, at
11:00 a.m. in the chapel
of Ronald V. Hall Funer
al Home with Elder Ric
Stewart officiating. Burial
followed in Lakeview Me
morial Gardens.

Mrs. Dorothy Sellers
Sumner, age 74, of Soper-
ton, died on Wednesday,
June 9, 2021, at her daugh
ter’s residence in Montrose.
Mrs. Sumner was born
in Higgston and lived in
Vero Beach, FL, for a num
ber of years before return
ing to Soperton in the early
1970s. She was a member
of Norristown Holiness
Revival Center. She was
preceded in death by her
parents, Walter Clarence
“W.C.” Sellers and Katie
Pearl Durden Sellers; 10
siblings, Susie Graham,
Earl Sellers, Dinky Sellers,
Skeeter Sellers, Red Bone
Sellers, Babe Sellers, Eloise
Wingard, Annete Hester,
Martha Wilhite, and Linda
Johnson; and 1 grandson,
John Paul “J. P.” Wade.
Survivors include 4
daughters, Karen Foskey
(Jimmy), Soperton, So
nya White (Dave), Rentz,
Tonya Adkins (Bill), Mon
trose, and Kim Ricks (J.J.),

Bobbie Rewis Calla
han, age 88, of Lyons died
Thursday, June 10, 2021, at
Community Hospice after
an extended illness. She
was a native and lifelong
resident of Lyons. She at
tended Lyons High School
and was a member of the
Class of 1950. She was a
homemaker by trade. For
76 years, she was a mem
ber of the First Baptist
Church of Lyons, where
she worked in the nursery
and served as a Leader for
the Girl’s Auxiliary and the
Young Women’s Auxiliary.
In addition, she served as
the President of the Wom
en’s Missionary Union, the
second time covering a
span of 15 years. Last but
not least, she served as Fi-
delis Sunday School Class
President for 32 years.
In her later years, she
joined The Oaks Baptist
Church and was a faithful
member of not only the
church but also the choir.
The opportunities she had
to serve her Lord provided
her with a great deal of joy.
Her greatest joy, however,
came from the time she
spent with family. She was
a devoted wife, mother,
grandmother and great
grandmother. Her many
names included Mama,
Granny, Diddley, and
GiGi. She loved her family
deeply and uncondition
ally and was blessed with a
long life which allowed her
to be involved in the lives
of her family, especially the
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by her husband of
62 years, Ira Lee Calla
han; parents Wright Re
wis and Carrie Thompson
Rewis; three sisters, Dora
Bell Strickland, Lula Bell
Smith, and Hazel Bacon;
four brothers, Randall
Strickland, Cleo Strick
land, Tommie Strickland,
and Elmer Rewis.
Survivors include
three children, Cheryl
West (Buddy) of Vidalia,
Randy Callahan (Beth)
of Vidalia, and Terri Kerr
(Tim) of Dublin; six grand

Mr. Walter Hutto, Jr.
Mr Walter Douglas
Hutto, Jr., age 67, of Vida
lia, died on June 12, 2021,
surrounded by loved ones
after a brief illness.
Mr. Hutto was born
in San Juan, Puerto Rico,
while his father was serving
in the Navy. He grew up in
Orlando, FL, and resided
in Toombs County since
1987. He was of Presbyte
rian faith. He was a 1971
graduate of Oak Ridge
High School in Orlando.
He attended the University
of Central Florida, where
he pitched for the baseball
team. He had a lifelong
career in various fields of
construction and worked
at a seafood market until
retirement. He was preced
ed in death by his parents,
Walter Douglas Hutto, Sr.,
and Glenda Faye Hutto,
and 1 uncle, James Green.
Survivors include 5
children, Amy Hutto Mal-
ley (Roger) of Prescott,
WI, Katie Moore (Scott)
of Vidalia, Christopher
Hutto of Lyons, Brittany
Hutto (Justin) of Vidalia,
and Bernie Hutto of Ly

“Sandy” Roberts, age 59, of
Vidalia, died on Thursday,
June 10, 2021, at her son’s
home after an extended ill
ness.
Ms. Roberts was a na
tive of Toombs County and
lived in Vidalia most of her
life. She was a 1979 graduate
of Vidalia Comprehensive
High School and attended
Brewton-Parker College.
Early in her life, Sandy op
erated a home daycare, and
for the past 30 years, she has
been Store Director for the
Salvation Army in Vidalia
and headed a mobile disas
ter unit. She attended Cal
vary on Aimwell. She was
preceded in death by her
mother, Myrtle Phillips.
Survivors include 2
children, Selena Ogrodoski
of Vidalia, and Chris Rob
erts and wife Donna Rae of
Senoia; her father, Kenny
Phillips, 1 sister, Kim Phil
lips, and 1 brother, Buddy

age 86, of Vidalia, died on
Monday, June 7, 2021, at
Memorial Health Univer
sity Medical Center in Sa
vannah after a brief illness.
Mr. Logan was a native
of Oak Park, living most
of his life in the Norman-
town Community, and in
Cedar Crossing the past
several years. He was a self-
employed
brick mason
and farmer.
He was a
U.S. Army
veteran and
a member of the Norman-
town Baptist Church. He
was preceded in death by
his parents, Otis Hyman
Logan and Annie Lucille
Holton Logan; and 3 sib
lings, Nancy Lee Logan,
Irvin Logan, and Larry Lo
gan.
Survivors include 3 sis
ters, Gloria Dowd of Cedar
Crossing, Audrey Meeks
of Alpharetta, and Linda

ter a brief illness.
Mrs. Salem was a na
tive of the Kibbee Com
munity, later moving to Mt.
Vernon, and lived in Vidalia
since 1979. She was a 1966
graduate of Montgomery
County High School, and
Swainsboro Technical Col
lege. She was a licensed
practical nurse and worked
at Meadows Memorial, and
with Dr. Bob Dejarnette
and CareOne. She was
Presbyterian by faith. She
was preceded in death by
her husband, Jim Salem;
and her parents, William
“Sonny Man” Cauley and
Emma Brantley Cauley.
Survivors include
2 sons, Mike Salem and
Daniel Salem; and 2 grand
children, Logan Salem and
Mikenna Salem of Lyons.
The family will receive
friends at the funeral home
on Wednesday evening
from 6:00 until 8:00.
