RTCA Shotgun At State
Women's Golf Returns To BPC
Robert Toombs
Christian Academy's Var
sity Shotgun team re
cently participated in the
GISA State AA competi
tion at Forest City Gun
Club in Savannah, GA.
The events were sched
uled over a three day pe
riod and included 100
targets each in Sporting
Clays, Skeet, and Trap.
Making up the varsity
squad are shooters
Karsen Evans, Cameron
Hinson, Bishop Lampp,
Bradlan McDonald, Car-
ston Tapley, Joey Todd,
and James Varnes. The
windy weather made the
competition even more
difficult, but the 2021
Shotgun team made a
very impressive stand.
Compared to other
AA schools with some
teams having 20 or more
shooters, the Crusaders
team of seven high school
members finished second
in state. Some of the top
accomplishments for this
year’s state shoot were a
season high for Bishop
Lampp with a 95 in Skeet
including a first time 25
straight, Cameron Hin
son with a 92 in Skeet,
James Varnes scoring a 92
in Trap, Joey Todd with a
93 in Trap, Karsen Evans
with an 84 in Skeet, and
Carston Tapley scoring
an 86 in Sporting Clays.
The Crusader team
was led by Junior Bradlan
McDonald, who broke a
total of 289 out of 300
targets. This combined
score consisted of a 97 in
Sporting Clays, 99 in

SIN WHAT AN
AWFUL THING
BY GARY TOOLE
Now if you don’t think that sin is
bad then look no further than on
Direct TV
the program
48 hours and
I have not
missed an
episode in
12 years and
I thought
they would
try and take
it off back
when those
folks were
protesting. Many just to loot and
steal. So I have watched over 600
episodes and it was 87 percent
blacks killing blacks or hispanic
killing hispanics and vise versa.
So does their lives matter then?
Of course they do but these rich
under cover billionaires and
crooked politicians and rebel
rousers don’t stir up a stink with
that. You see for there hidden evil
agenda they stir the pot when it is
feasible for them. Also old
Hellwood (Hollywood) stirs the
pot when it is financially feasible
for them. Do they care? No!
They care about money and
ratings and power and glory and
riches. They talk their trash from
peep holes in billion dollar
mansions with electric fences and
gates around them and armed
guards and guard dogs. Yea right!
They talk big because they stir the
pot but they ain’t in the middle of
it. Folks get smart! Don’t be a
puppet for those folks and don’t
be their pawn or patsy. Now the
bible says two things about sin.
First sin is pleasure for a season. It
is short lived then destruction
comes. On 48 hours 92 percent
killed was young folks 20 to 25.
Then it says that the way of the
transgressor ( the sinner) is hard.
Also let me say that be sure your
sins will find you out. They will
weigh you down and as one
preacher said, “Sin will take you
further than you want to go, keep
you longer than you want to stay
and cost you more than you want
to pay!” The wages of sin is death.
Eternal death in hell. A real hell
that the oh so smart millenniums
says does not exist. How do they
know? Have they died and been
there? Oh that’s right they
googled it! Poor souls! The rich
man raised his head in hell and
called for the beggar Lazarus to
come and dip the tip of his finger
in water and cool his tongue for he
was tormented in those flames.
Lazarus begged on earth but the
rich man was now begging in hell.
Sin what an awful thing! Can you
say amen? PD.ADV.
Skeet, and a 93 in Trap.
McDonald finished first
in state for Sporting
Clays, first in state for
Skeet, and fourth in state
for Trap. He also took
home the coveted HOA
(High Overall) title in
AA GISA Shotgun and
was named a member of
the Georgia All State
Team.
Head Crusader
Coach Allen McDonald
says, "I would like to per
sonally thank the coach
ing staff, Jamie Cauley,
Lane DeFee, Matt Hin
son, Bill Lampp, and
Beau Varnes, along with
the parents of the shoot
ers, for their help and
support during the 2021
shotgun season. The sup
port from local sponsors
has been tremendous this
year. While the team will
truly miss senior Karsen
Evans, they are looking
forward to another awe
some year in 2022."
Middle School
RTCA's Middle
School Shotgun team
ended its 2021 shoot sea
son at the State Shotgun
Tournament also held at
Forest City Gun Club.
The Middle School
Shotgun Team proudly
added quite a few shoot
ers this year with team
members consisting of
eighth graders Lily Cau
ley, DJ Clifton, Sean
Fitzgerald, seventh grader
Andrew Meek, and sixth
graders Brantley Black,
Yates Pye, Jarrett Reeves,
Banks Hopkins, Riley
Hinson, and Tommy
Fitzgerald.
Special recognition
goes to Cauley for placing
third in State Trap and
5th State HOA in the la
dy’s division.
"The team had a suc
cessful year and with each
shooter’s hard work and
dedication, made great
improvements. We would
like to extend a special
thank you to all of the
parents and family mem
bers who devoted their
time and energy into
these kids and their team.
Without your support
none of this would have
been possible. Thank you
to our coaches that gave
their time and effort into
making the team what it
was this year and what we
expect it to be in years to
come," said McDonald,
Head Shotgun Coach.
