It was a busy week for
the Bulldogs of Wheeler

Fitzgerald, Treutlen
County, and Vidalia last
week. The girls dropped all
three of their games, while
the boys picked up two
wins.
Girls vs. Fitzgerald
The Lady Bulldogs
struggled against the Hurri
canes of Fitzgerald. Fitzger
ald ran away with the game
and took a 78-16 win.
Wheeler was led by
Mahogany King with 11
points.
Boys vs. Fitzgerald
Wheeler was up 4-0
early in this game and then
led 10-7 halfway through
the first. Later in the third
quarter of the game the
Bulldogs were on top 32-20
over the Hurricanes.
Wheeler had pushed
their lead to 49-32 in the
fourth and went on to take
the win, 64-46.
Girls vs. Treutlen
Against Truetlen, the
Lady Vikings led 12-4 at the
end of the first and were on

first half. Treutlen out-
scored Wheeler 17-3 in the
third quarter of the game
and took the win over
Wheeler 45-18.

The boys game was
much closer as the Bulldogs
had to fight for the win.
Wheeler came out on top in
this game 65-60 to get a win
over their rival.
Girls vs. Vidalia
It was a tough game as
the Lady Bulldogs were at
Vidalia. Vidalia led the
game 20-0 at the end of the
first and held a 44-0 lead at
halftime. Vidalia was on top
57-0 at the end of the third
quarter and won the game
57-7.
Boys vs. Vidalia
Vidalia led 3-2 after a
basket by Jay Fason, and
then the Bulldogs tied the
game at 4-4 with a shot by
Brandon Smallwood. Vida
lia went ahead and were up
14-4 with 3:10 left in the

to 17-10, but at the end of
the first, the score was 20-
10 with the Indians on top.
Smallwood and Fason
closed it to 22-15, and it
was 22-17 after two free-

dalia went on a run to make
it 27-17, but Wilcox got a
basket in the lane to close it
to under 10 points at 27-19.
Jeremiah Kincy made a
strong move in the lane as
the first half was winding
down and then made a free-

to 37-30, but by the end of
the half, the score was 44-
35 with VHS out in front.
Wheeler hung around
throughout much of the
second half keeping it close
to a 10-point game. In the
fourth they trailed 75-65,
but the Indians went on a
late run to take an 82-65
win over Wheeler.
