The Indian soccer
teams of Vidalia High
School had a busy week
last week with three
matches. They hosted
Pierce County on Tuesday,
were at Windsor Forest on
Thursday and then hosted
Appling County on Friday.
The girls and boys each
won just one game on the
week.
vs. Pierce
The Lady Indians
were blanked by the Lady
Bears on Tuesday. Pierce
rolled to a 10-0 win over
VHS.
In the boys game
Pierce also came out on
top. They had one first half
goal and then added three
more in the second half to
win the game over VHS,
4-0.
vs. Windsor
After a scoreless first
half, both Vidalia and
Windsor picked up a goal
in the second half to make
it 1-1 at the end of regula
tion.
That sent the game to
overtime. In the overtime
period VHS managed to
get a goal as they took the
win, 2-1, over the Lady
Knights.
In the boys game
Windsor had a goal in the
first half and two more in
the second half as they de
feated VHS, 3-0.
vs. Appling
The Lady Indians did
score a goal in the first half
of the game, but Appling
put four on the board in
the half to take the lead.
Neither team scored in the
second half as Appling
came out on top.
The boys game was a
thriller that went to double
overtime. In the first half
VHS had the lead, 2-1, but
in the second half the Pi
rates came back. VHS
picked up a goal in the sec
ond half, but Appling
scored two to send the
game to overtime, 3-3.
Neither team scored in
the first overtime, but in
double OT, VHS added
two goals and kept the Pi
rates at bay to secure the
win, 5-3.
The Lady Indians are
2-12 on the year and are
2-10 in the Region, and the
boys are 5-9 and 4-8 in the
Region. This is the final
week of the regular season.
VHS was at Toombs
County on Tuesday after
presstime, and will wrap
up the season on Thursday
at home against Savannah
Arts at 5:00 p.m.
