Obituaries
Mr. Gene Braddy
Mr. Gene Braddy,
age 83, of Alston, died on
Thursday, October 12,
2023, at Community Hos
pice House in Vidalia after
an extended illness.
Mr. Braddy was a na
tive of Toombs County,
was a 1957
graduate of
Lyons High
School, and
was a U.S.
Army vet
eran. He retired from CSX
Railroad after 39 years as
Assistant to the Division
Engineer. With his career
with the CSX, it took him
several places, including
moving to Baldwin, FL, to
Yemassee, SC, and Mac-
clenny, FL, before moving
to the Vidalia area 25 years
ago. He was a former Ma
son and Shriner in South
Carolina and was a member
ofMt. Zion Baptist Church
near the Blue Ridge Com
munity. He is preceded in
death by his wife, Marjorie
Purvis Braddy; his parents,
William Taft Braddy and
Rubie Lee Drake Braddy;
and 1 sister, Elaine Braddy
Morris Williams.
His family includes
6 children, Tena Braddy

The funeral service
was Monday afternoon,
October 16, at 3:00, in the
chapel of Ronald V. Hall
Funeral Home, with Pas
tor Robert Ferrell officiat
ing. Burial followed in the
Odom Cemetery near Ly
ons.
Pallbearers were Chris
Braddy, Jason Braddy, J.J.
Braddy, Tucker Braddy, Jeff
Morris, and John Morris.

Mrs. Ewona White
McDaniel, age 80, of Vida
lia, died on Monday, Oc
tober 9, 2023, at Dublinair
Nursing Home after a brief
illness.
Mrs. McDaniel was a
native of Wheeler County,
living most of her life in
Vidalia before moving to
Dublin to be closer to her
family. She was a 1961
graduate of Lowery High
School. She was a machine
operator with Thomas
and Betts for many years
and was a member of
Mount Vernon Pentecos
tal Church and former
member of Abundant Life
Pentecostal Church. She is
preceded in death by her
husband of 30 years, Ray
McDaniel; her parents,
Chessley White and Dora
Vesta Connell; and broth
ers, Jack White, Leroy
White, and Carlton White.
Her family includes
her 3 children; Mitch Poole
and wife Angel of Dublin,
Melinda Smith and hus
band James of Dublin,
and Carol Neely and hus
band Jason of Omak, WA;
2 brothers, Bobby White
of Macon, and Herbert
White and wife Ginger
of Gray; 1 sister, Maudie
Warnock of Milledgeville;
16 grandchildren; 20 great
grandchildren; and several
nieces, nephews and other
relatives.
The funeral service
was held on Saturday after
noon, October 14, at 3:00,
in the chapel of Ronald V.
Hall Funeral Home. Buri
al followed at Pine Crest
Cemetery.

Mr. Timothy Allen
“Tim” Edenfield, age 59, of
Gray, died on Wednesday,
October 11, 2023, at his
home.
Mr. Edenfield was a
meat cutter for Publix Su
permarkets for approxi
mately 40 years.
He leaves behind his
children, Tyler, Tanner,
Travis, Cameron and Tay
lor; 1 brother, Mike; and
grandchildren, Dawson,
Piper Grace, Everly, and
Sophie; and several nieces.
A graveside funeral
service was conducted on
Sunday, October 15, 2023,
at 4:00 p.m., in the Durden
Family Cemetery in Soper-
ton.
Sammons Funeral
Home in Soperton was in
charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Iris Moore
Mrs. Iris Wiggins
Moore, age 95, of Jackson
ville, Florida, died Friday,
October 13, 2023, at her
granddaughter’s home in
Jacksonville following an
extended illness. She was
born November 13, 1927,
in Jenkins County to the
late Tom Watson Wiggins
and Ada Mae Scarboro
Wiggins and later moved
to Emanuel County. She
was a 1945 graduate of Oak
Park High School and was a
graduate of Georgia Teach
ers College in Statesboro.
She was owner and presi
dent of Lark Builders from
1967 until 1990. She was
a former member of Lyons
Chamber of Commerce
and Sumter County Flori
da Chamber of Commerce.
She was a member of Ad-
amsville Baptist Church in
Adamsville, Florida, since
1990, Pilot Club, and Red
Hat Society. In addition to
her parents, she is preceded
in death by her husband,
Robert L. Moore, Sr., in
1972, and five siblings.
Her family includes
two children, Robin Lee
Moore and fiance Lon
nie Tibittis of Wildwood,
Florida, and Robert L.
“Bob” Moore, Jr., and wife
Joanie of Lyons; six grand
children, Kelly Evans and
husband Harold, John
Moore, Jr., and wife Mary

and wife Christina, Rob
ert L. Moore III and wife
Amy, Adam Moore and
wife Lindsey, and Wes

The family will receive
friends at the funeral home
on Wednesday afternoon,
October 18 from 1:30 until
just prior to the funeral ser
vice at 3:00. Pastors Randy
Alonso, Kenneth Srurbbs,
and Christian Burton will
officiate.
Burial will follow at
Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist
Church Cemetery in Nor
ristown.

Mr. Lamar Mosley, age
76, of the Blue Ridge Com
munity, died on Monday,
October 9, 2023, at Memo
rial Health Meadows Hos
pital in Vidalia after a sud
den illness.
Mr. Mosley was a 1965
graduate of :
School and \
was a U.S. \
Army veteran \
of Vietnam,
serving 1 tour of duty. He
worked with Georgia Pow
er, Hercules, was a meat cut
ter, and truck driver before
retiring after 20 years from
Georgia State Prison in
Reidsville as a correctional
officer. He was Baptist by
faith. He coached baseball
and football at the Lyons
Recreation Department.
He was an avid fan and sup
porter of Toombs County
High School sports. Preced
ing him in death were his
parents, Henry Lee Mosley
and Ruby Lee McCoy Mos
ley; and 1 brother, Bobby
Mosley.
His family includes
his wife of 46 years, Linda
Mosley of Blue Ridge; 5
children, Keith Mosley and
wife Juana of Santa Claus,
Brian Mosley of Blue Ridge,
Jamey Gates and wife Al
lison of Cedar Crossing,
Stacy Lee Mosley of Lyons,
and Lagena Whitaker and
husband Jamie of Vidalia;
1 brother, David Mosley

Mr. John Waddell
Mr. John Robert Wad
dell, age 81, ofVidalia, Geor
gia, passed into his heavenly
home peacefully, Thursday,
October 12, 2023, at Com
munity Hospice House sur
rounded by his loving fam
ily. Mr. Waddell was born
in Savannah and grew up
in Candler County at the
family farm. He graduated
from Metter High School
in 1960, after graduating
from high school he went
to Bolan Darught Business
School in Savannah. He re
tired from Colemans Sales
after 33 years of dedicated
service as an Inventory
Manager. He received spe
cial recognition from the
regional and national sup
plier for achieving forecast
ing sales when purchasing
products from the distribu
tor. He was a member of
Grace Methodist Church
ofVidalia and very active in
many aspects of service by
holding a number of differ
ent offices, and helping with
the Dublin District Church
Camp for many years. He
mentored for children at
risk of Toombs County. He
enjoyed playing softball on
church league and was an
avid bowler. He traveled all
over the countryside bowl
ing in national, regional,
state, and local tourna
ments; he was involved in
several bowling leagues,
holding numerous offices
including secretary. Teach
ing youth was a favorite pas
time for him. Some other
favorites include, parachute
sky diving, scuba diving,
fishing and last of all he
was a Georgia Bulldog Fan.
He loved and cherished
his wife, children, grand
children, and great-grand
children spending much
of his free time traveling.
He is preceded in death by
his parents, John Grier and
Mary Yarborough Waddell;
and stepson, David Thre-
atte.
His family includes his
wife of forty-eight years,
Nell Stewart Waddell of
Vidalia; one son, Jeffrey
Waddell and wife Valarie
of Clemmons, North Caro
lina; two daughters, Carla
Martin and husband Don of
Columbus and Lisa Peden
and husband David of Bran
don, Mississippi; one sister,
Yvonne Trapnell and hus
band Billy ofMetter; twelve
grandchildren; ten great
grandchildren; several,
nieces, nephews and other
relatives.
The celebration of life
service will be held 11:00
a.m., October 21, at Grace
Methodist Church of Vi
dalia, 1200 Aimwell Road,
Vidalia, GA 30474.

following an extended ill
ness.
Mrs. Davis was a life
long resident of Montgom
ery County and a 1962
graduate of Montgomery
County High School. She
worked as an administra
tive assistant for 30 years
at J.D. Dickerson Primary
School in Vidalia. She was
a former member ofVidalia
Church of God and a mem
ber of Tabernacle Baptist
Church. She is preceded in
death by her son, Brittan
Duel “Britt” Davis; her par
ents, William Mack Blaxton
and Ethel Emogene Bec-
kum Blaxton; 1 sister, Alva
Mae Blaxton Mosley; and 3
brothers, Joe Blaxton, Wil
bur Blaxton, and Thermon
Blaxton.
Her family includes her
husband of 60 years, Duel
Davis of Taylor Springs; 1

wife Ann of Macon; and
